SOURCE: I have a 1998 Buick

Alright ready. Unfortunately I can't provide the diagrams online. I can provide the help when you have questions while working on this and will respond as quick as possible when you get stuck and can't figure out what to do next. What you need to do to get diagrams and instructions all in one is buy a repair manual especially if you are planning on doing basically everything yourself on this car. They are called a Haynes or a Chilton manual (two different ones specific to your car). You can get them at any auto parts store and will provide the information you need to get to those parts. and to replace them.

Basically to get to the door actuator, You need to remove the whole dashboard. It is a long and tiresome process and it will be located more towards the passenger side of the car. Keep parts in order when you remove them, maybe taking pictures along the way (You will be glad you did). Also make sure the battery is disconnected while tearing it apart especially since this one has airbags I believe. If you want to test the actuator, then you need to make sure the control switch is getting voltage and is sending it down the wires with a voltmeter to the actuator motor (This requires pulling the climate controls off and having the battery connected and the ignition on at this point).

The power seat is bolted down with probably 13 mm bolts, you should be able to pull the whole seat out (which I recommend especially if you have to pull the dash apart) and then you can apply voltage to it and see if the motor will work at all or make sure certain parts are getting voltage (again with a volt meter, easy obtained from an electronics store such as Radio Shack).

Please get the manual and when you have specific questions, post them and I will answer them as quickly as I can. If you can post pictures of the problem when you get to them, that would help too in case I don't quite understand you. Let me know how this turns out.

2001 Buick Regal. Power door lock swith will not lock doors.

Remove the door panel and unplug the connector to the door actuator. Probe the contacts with a voltmeter set on DC volts. Then operate the lock/unlock switch. You should see the voltage toggle from +12 volts to -12 volts. If you do, then the wiring, switch and connector are good and you have a bad actuator. Be prepared to start replacing all of them because they all operate the same number of cycles.

1998 buick regal gs heat blows hot on passenger side and cold on the driver side.

Same problem on my 98 Regal GS; remove glove box, locate the blend door actuator, (black odd shaped box with metal "ring"). Remove the box and manually turn the blend door shaft it was attached to. If you get cold air, it's the actuator you removed. About 30-40 dollars.
