Unfortunately, this type of information is not provided by the manufacturer's as a download. However, there still remain's a solution. You can go to most automotive supply stores, and purchase manuals for your vehicle that contain step by step proceedure's to repairing almost everything on your car, these manuals usually also detail the electrical wiring in diagrams in the back of the manuals.

You can find these manuals at most automotive stores such as Autozone, Petboys and such. They usually rin from $8 - $20+ depending on how detailed the manuals are.

First the sensor in the rear gearbox may be bad or corroded for sensing wheel speed. Also the engine wiring harness may be falling apart. From 1991-1995 the US made MB use biodegradable material on the wiring. When the insulation cracks you get shorts in the system. The same wires are in your EHA on the air inlet area. Check and replace as needed.

remove center console lower wood and switches, remove ash tray, remove 2 screws to remove ash tray unit. Pop off face of radio, push in plastic tabs holding radio in console and pull unit out.

Just wondering if you have solved your problem yet without having to spend more than the vehicle is worth.LOL
I may have a solution.

  1. If you can get the whole ignition assembly out (remembering that when you take off the rear -with wires connected to housing- make note of what goes where as best you can unless you have wiring schematics), place key into ignition and clamp vise grips to key.
  2. Place assembly into a bench vise so that the barrel is facing up and the vise grips clamped on key.
  3. With a ball-pen hammer (preferably heavy head) tap continously around the black casing, but not with too much force, but enough to send vibrations into the barrell. Good thing to do is to spray a lubricating solution down the barrel. Dont worry about the casing as it is a very hard metal.
  4. As you are tapping, hold the vise grips and put pressure on the vise grips as if you are turning the key to ON position, not too much pressure though. You might want to wriggle it. Do this holding the head of the vise grips and not the handle as you might twist the key and snap it in the barrel.
  5. This might take a bit of time so be paitient.
It took me about 15-20mins and all for free, well untill I get me a NEW barrel.

The 'idle control' on the 300e is bolted to the second intake tunnel and is a large zylinder with a 2 pole wire connection on one end and a hose connection on the other end. It is NOT ADJUSTABLE.

Hi 1988 300e starts good cold as it warms up it starts to miss and just gets worse as it gets warmer.

have system scanned for any dtcs if none present ck operation of sensors, if all sensors read right.plugs and wires are good,cap and rotor good,ck for intake leak,then head gasket for leak.

OVP relay, box with fuse by battery is a common cause. Coil by drivers headlight another huge cause as no one replaces these.

Under the passenger foot well underneath the car on the exhaust and the wire runs through the body under the passenger carpet.
