SOURCE: 2003 trailblazer ext will not shift into 3rd

Seems as if you have Covered all PRELIMINARY Bases, So Next step I Would Advise that you Visit a Transmission Repair Shop For A "SYSTEM FLUSH" This Flushes the Hydro system in Trans and Could Free up Any Debris that Potentially Cause Shift Failures and Other Problems. I Hope this HELPS you, Those Transmissions Can QUICKLY Become MONEY PITS

02 trailblazer lost 3rd gear

YOUR PROBLEM STATES CLEARLY YOUR MECHANICAL ISSUE. YOU REALLY WILL HAVE TO GET A DIAGNOSIS FROM A TRANSMISSION SHOP. THERE ARE SO MANY VARIABLES IN THIS SITUATION. I WOULD PROBABLY GUESS A TRANSMISSION SHIFT SOLENOID FAILURE. THESE SEEM TO CAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THESE PROBLEMS. UNLESS YOU ARE AN ACCOMPLISHED TRANSMISSION PERSON I WOULDN'T SUGGEST YOU TRY TO REPAIR. YOU COULD WIND UP PURCHASING PART AFTER PART WITH NO SOLUTION. THESE SHIFT SOLENOIDS CAN BE VERY PRICEY.

2004 Trailblazer auto tranny would not go forward in any gear but would go in reverse. Changed out the Torque converter now only goes in 1st and 2nd but not drive or overdrive, dipstick shows full. Was it...

Your transmission is electronically controlled by the engine computer (that's what the "e" at the end of the trans designation means) Wiring and shift solenoids need to be tested before going deeper into the unit. If you find any debris in the pan though then forget testing as metal and clutch material can and will contaminate the solenoids but the cause of the debris is worn clutches and hard parts.

The shift solenoids are located inside the transmission. The average person and alot of mechanics can not even attempt to fix this problem. The transmission needs to come out and pulled apart and repaired.Take it to a specialtiy transmission shop they can tell you. Some vehicle can be repaired that have this problem without tearing the trans out or apart it is best to take this problem to the expertsTrust Me

When I start engine then depress brake pedal and try to depress shift lever button I can't get it ou of park. This happens 6 times out of 10.

In the area of the shifter (in the center console), there is a shift lock solenoid that is activated by the brake switch. This solenoid prevents shifting out of the Park position unless the brake pedal is depressed. Your problem could be either the brake switch or the solenoid. I would try replacing the switch first.

My autotransmission will not shift when starting out Ineed to back off the gas so it goes to 2,000 RPM and then shifts if not it will just run high rpm and really not go that fast .

You either have transmission shift solenoids that are faulty or internal problems. Try having a technicion hook a scanner up and have the solenoids tested while being driven. That will tell u your answer. Thanks Josh
