Question about 1998 Dodge Caravan
Transmission will sometimes fail to engage and even when it does it will sometimes disengage while operating after coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Have to turn the vehicle off and then back on to get it to work again. Even that doesn't work all the time. The transmission slips and if the accelerator is depressed too fast, it will slip so bad that the vehicle doesn't speed up and we have to sut back down. The vehicle goes well once running and moving. The fluid level is good and seems to be fine and not burnt. Do not smell anything burning like a transmission slipping all the time.

Testimonial: "Awesome. Thats the one I thought it was, can't get it to move though on account I can't get a wrench on it. theres no room to get my hands in there!"
I need a little mor info. But the reason for the being stuck in 2nd gear is because when something goes wrong with the tranny. it goes into "LIMP" mode wich keeps the trans. from shifting out of 2nd when you are going forward. It does sound like your trans. is gone out though.
