SOURCE: 1993 Olds 88 3800 engine, coil 1-4 will not fire.

After looking at the wiring diagrams for these vehicles, the only thing this has in common anywhere is the engines ECU. Remove the spark plug wires from the coil pack itself over 1 and 4 and then take a length of wire attatched to ground and while being held with a insulated pair of pliers, place near the coil leads to see if you are getting a crisp spark. If not, it sounds like the ECU's internal drivers have failed. Fortunately these ECUs are not very expensive. About $100 or you may be able to locate a used one for a lot less. Let me know if you need anything else.

1996 ford ranger 2.3 coil not firing

Check and see if you have a Camshaft sensor. Also check your wires to the crankshaft sensor connector to see if they are broken. Go to Autozone.com for a wiring and fusebox layout for free. Just register your truck.

Could be that you have a relay for each coil and one is bad. If so, sometimes Ford uses the same relay many times and the horn relay may interchange. You can use the horn to test the switched relay.

I took front coils on 2000 Nissan maxima and #6 didnt fire like 2 an 4

Take the number 2 and put it in place of 6. If that 6 fire then your solution is a new coil. If it still doesnt fire you have a control issue and the pcm will need to be addressed

Ok i recently changed spark plugs on my 1994 buick skylark. when i was done changing plugs i started car up and smelled strong exhaust smell. so i checked the plugs wires and found out that when i pulled...

Did you mean coil the 1994 3.1 did not use a distributor , sounds like a bad coil pack and cylinders #3 and #6 do use the same coil. I would also check 3 and 6 plug wires this system is a waste spark design meaning when # 3 coil fires it is supposed to go through #3 plug wire , through #3 plug ( ground) through the engine block through the #6 plug then through the #6 wire then back to the coil, Then when #6 fires it works the opposite way, so in theory you could have one bad wire affecting 2 cylinders .....

2001 pontiac cowl pack not fireing.

Here is a diagram of the firing order for you 3800 engine. Cylinders 1 and 4 are misfiring because the operate under the same "Coil Pack" and the coil pack has unfortunately gone bad. O'Reilly sells them for between $30-50 depending on the amount of warranty coverage you want. To replace, simply unscrew the screws that hold the coil pack in place. WAIT before unplugging the plug wires. Place the old coil pack and new coil pack next to each other, unplug one plug wire, then plug it to that same port on the new coil pack. then do the same for the other plug wire. Then screw your new coil pack in place, and start you car. should run fine!

I think the firing order is not correct on my 89 beretta V6

firing order for the 2.8 and 3.1 engines is 1 2 3 4 5 6. if you got plugs wires out of place left from right of coil pack..this is where your wires will go from coil pack to plugs.1 4 6 3 2 5 . now looking at your engine.rear cylinders left from right is 1 3 5 your front cylinder left to right is 2 4 6 now firing order for 2.0 - 2.2L - 2.3 engines is 1 3 4 2 . looking at 2.3 engine left to right cylinders is 1 2 3 4 .now the 2.0 2.2L engine cylinders left to right is 4 3 2 1.if you got coil wires mixed up.looking at coil pack facing you first would be 1 4 3 2 .this is the cylinders wires will go.
