Have him remove & clean th IAC/AIS motor on the throttle body, and the port it came out of , as well as clean inside of throttle body if he hasn't done so already. Check and clean connections before re-assembling. Shouldn't take any longer than 1/2 hr or so.

no, not the battery. If the battery problem it won't crank, so check if there is a gas going to the carburetor or fuel injector. If yes there is a gas, then check if there is a spark on the spark plugs when you crank it. If yes, call me.

hey that sounds familiar!have you checked your idle control sensor? let me tell you 1st you crank it cold, you have to keep your foot on the gas pedal until it warms up.but then when you come up to red light quick stop, the engine dies or wants to stop? sometimes it starts fine? but when it does, after running for a few minutes,it idles up and down? when it's warm after driving 15miles or so,you shut it off and try a restart, and the engine starts, but idles up and down? all of the above are signs of a bad idle control sensor.the part costs about $20.00 u.s. 2bolts removal 1 PLUG IN REMOVAL you may be able to do it yourself.have an autozone or advance autoparts store employee show you where it's would be shocked at how many great people there are left in the world! i'm answering your question for free at midnight from the u.s. think i'm bored? no. just love helping people like you! thank you so much!

Won't turnover when cranking to start.

If it's electric just take the line off intake and put it in a cup or something to catch the gas. Turn on key for a moment and see if any gas comes out. You can usually hear pump in take run. If it's mechanical pump, take it off intake into a cup and crank the motor over a couple times. Do all this with engine cold. If no gas, change pump. Some times changing gas cap helps.

1997 dodge 1500 starts fine when cold, won't restart when warm.

No, the coil the is not the problem. I would take the ignition module and have it tested. Even though it may not test bad b/c it is still cold, it is more than likely the problem. Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when the trouble occurs?
