SOURCE: "Check Engine light"

The issue is that the system randomly checks the loop of the fuel system to confirm that it has no leaks. A missing cap is the easy one to correct. It might also be a slpit in the rubber hose that connects the fuel fill tube (on the chassis) to the one on the tank, or any other hose in the the entire fuel delivery/ fume recovery sysrtem. The solenoid that allows the engine's vacuum to be used to conduct this test can also be sticking so that after the test cycle, it doesn't reclose. Good luck

SOURCE: 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser - chuggs at stop lights -

The blinking light means that the cylinder or cylinders are misfiring, the first step is to see if it needs a tune up, bad plugs or wire will cause this. if you go to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer , they will give you a print out of the codes, i will bet theres a few misfire codes. the codes will tell you exactly what cylinder is actting up and from there you can check the wire and plug.

Does anyone have a list of Check Engine light codes for a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

if you go on the internet and punch in Chrysler PT cruiser codes they will come up. they indicate a problem with that circuit the code relates to but you have to check it out. does not indicate a part to be replaced.

Can someone help me my pt cruizer 2004 oil come one and blinks on and off and ding a lot if i change my oil would it stop and stays off

Yes, changing the oil will help, however, you will also have to clear the "change oil" light. Either figure out what buttons to press to delete that, or go to an auto parts store and ask if they can help you reset it.

2002 pt cruizer won't shift out of first gear. could it be from the transmission relay?

Question is contradictory. First you say won't shift out of first gear, then you say won't shift pst second. If the latter is correct, yes could be the 3-4 shift solenoid has failed.

Good place to start, but If you check directly with Chrysler there may be a technical service bulletin, that isn't posted yet. Have the codes cleared when work done, and see what happens.

Timing belt

A dealer told my son in law to change the timing belt at least once before it reached 80000 miles. I would probably change it at 60, maybe 70.
