You could also pull the plug from the factory alarm control
module thus taking it totally out of the system. It is behind the glove box (the
furthest module on the left... attached with 2 screws. It seems like a PITA
job, but it is really not too bad if you have a phillips head screwdriver and
about 45 mins to 1 hour.
You will need to remove the dash, the radio/center console bezel, and then finally you can get to the glove box. I'll give you the rundown if you want to go this route.
First, you will need to remove the screws holding the front of the dashpad down. There are 3 screws along the top of the bezel around the instrument cluster, 2 screws along the top of the radio/center console bezel, and 2 screws along the top of the inside of the glove box.
Next, gently pry the center defrost bezel (along the back of the dash pad near the winshield - be careful, mine has two sensors attached: auto headlights and the temperature). Once that is removed unhook the two sensors and remove the defrost bezel.
Underneath the defrost bezel you will find 4 screws holding the dash down, remove those. Now you have removed all the screws holding your dash in place. In order to make it easier to lift the dash out of the car, you might want to remove the side pillar trim pieces (they are the plastic pieces that run from the dash to the headliner on both sides). They are held on by two metal 'snap-type' fittings, so you just need to genly pull on them and they will separate. Now, the only thing holding your dash in place are two 'snap type' fittings one on the forward drivers side edge and one on the forward passengers side edge. Genlty pull up on the dash in these areas and they will separate. Now you can remove the dash. (It sounds like a lot of work, but it took me longer to type this than actually doing it).
Once the dash is off, you will need to remove the radio/center console bezel. This is held on by 6 screws (2 of which you already removed). Remove the middle two screws, and then remove the ash tray to uncover the bottom two screws. Remove those and you can gently pry out the bezel. There is will be a connection for the cigarette lighter - you can unplug or just simply move the bezel out of the way slightly. The only reason to remove this is so that you can uncover one of the screws holding the glove box on.
Now you are finally ready to remove the glove box. First pull of the fuse panel cover door and the side demister boot (rectangular black thing above the fuse panel - just snaps in place, so pull gently to remove). Now open the glove box and remove the 3 screws along the front that hold the relay cover in place. You can remove that piece and set it aside. Next remove the four screws along the underside of the glove box (when looking up from the passenger side floor). Then remove the screw along the left edge of the glove box - lower left corner (the one that was hidden by the radio/console bezel). Now, there are 4 screws along the top that were hidden by the dash (the whole reason you had to pull the dash). Remove those and you can pull the glove box. There is a connection for the light - unhook that and you can take the whole glove box out and set aside.
Now to find the alarm relay. When looking at the cavity behind the glove box you should see some relays (turn signal, hazard, etc) that would normally be accessed by removing the cover inside the glove box. These are on the right side. In the center there will be a box that is approximately the size of a pack of cigarettes mounted by two screws. You will need to remove those screws and pull that box out of the way. The alarm module is the next cigarette size box to the left. It is mounted partly behind the plastic that makes up the front edge of the cavity by two screws. Remove those screws and you can pull the alarm module out. It has a 16 pin (I'm pretty sure) connector that you can unplug. That should totally remove the alarm from your system.

the security module is located behind the dash trim at the glove box. remove glove box door, and top crash pad, and trim around glove box door. The security module is mounted behind the trim panel. Unplug it and it bypassed.

There are two parts to it, a voltage resistor, and the EL panel itself.
You need to remove the console first. There are 2 screws under the front rubber pad, two under the cup holder, two in the bin. Remove those six first, take the storage bin out, then slide the rear cupholder out, remove the two screws under the cup holder, and one in front of it.
There are a total of 6 flat screws, and 3 self tapping screws you have removed.
Put the parking brake on, shift the tranny to N, and the transfer case to the middle position if equipped.
Remove the entire console. Slide the shifter beezel as far up vertically as you can. There are 4 clips you ned to remove to do it.
You will see a blue and black wire running into the back. Follow those wires to the resistor. You will see a transparent EL panel attatched to the resistor by two clips.
Usually, one or both of these clips has come loose, causing the light to work intermittantly. Clip them back on, and turn on the headlights to confirm that the light works correctly now.
Re-install everything in the opposite order.

The security alarm system on the 1994 Jeep Cherokee arms itself on any normal exit from the vehicle, i.e. ignition off, open door, lock door with power door locks, close door. If the doors are locked with the key, it does not arm.
If the battery is disconnected, then reconnected, the alarm system will go into powerup alarm mode. The lights will flash, but the horn will not blow.
The alarms can be disarmed by a keyless vehicle remote or by unlocking either of the front doors or the read lift gate with the key. If the key method does not work with any of those three entrances, there is a problem either with the input to the alarm module or the module itself.
There is a switch in both front doors and the tailgate which is activated by manualy unlocking those doors. The alarms can be disabled by permanently grounding the wire going from either of those switches to the alarm module, but this will remove all theft protection.
The best thing to do is to find out why the system is going off in the first place. It could just be a glitch, a loose connection that can be fixed fairly easily and keep your theft protection intact.
