SOURCE: engine won't fire up, bgin to but dies quickly. Plenty of fuel, new battery.

Yes, its the first suspect. Check your distributor cap for corrosion or wipe it with clean dry cloth some is only due to moisture inside it. Next is your spark plug.

SOURCE: 2006 Nissan X Trail Gear Shift Stuck in Park.

This is not a permanent fix, but you'll be able to shift and drive...this is a "safety feature" when you're break lights aren't working...it may be a fuse issue, i found that didn't help either.

How to drive it while it's "broken" On the top left of your gear shift is circle that looks like a button that is only 3/4 there...see picture (it's circled in red)

pry that off with a key or something... now restart your car, push on the break and at the same time insert a key or something into the now open hole...while pushing down use the other key to shift into reverse. You will need to do the same thing to shift back into park.

Good heavens that is the most inneficient safety feature I've ever heard of. How about instead of leaving the car immoble and keeping you in a scetchy neihborhood to get mugged they just "invent" a warning light notification. grr

SOURCE: nissan pulsar N13 1991 GL manual htch cutting out even in neutral

2 things, sounds air related

1 there is a split in one of your air pipes causing it to take on to much air and cut out.
2 the air flow meter or air sensor is broke, or may need cleaning.

Use carb cleaner to clean the sensors and wires.

Hi I have a Nissan 2000 n16 pulsar automatic, which sometimes will not start. The motor will not crank over. If I wriggle the gear stick it will eventually start again. Has anyone had this problem or know...

your shifter I am guessing is out of adjustment or the neutral safety switch is the problem. try starting it in neutral. if it works find in that gear I am guessing your shifter needs to be adjusted. your car can be started in park or neutral this is for all cars.

My honda acorrd shift wont move.

Your brake interlock is not working properly. Do your brake lights work? There is a switch at the brake pedal that tells the computer your foot is on the brake and to let you shift gears. When working properly you can hear the click by your shifter when you step on the brake. If you don't hear the click you need to troubleshoot the system to see which part is not working properly.

Hyundai accent won't shift out of park

You do have your foot on the brake when trying to shift ehh. If so could be a faulty brake to shifter cable.
Remove the center console and check that applying the brake de-activates the lock on the shifter

possible intake manifold leak, check bolt torque, warps and leaks as engine warms up,spray starting fluid around the edges while idleing,if engine rpms shoot up replace intake gasket, also vaccum booster on brakes, diaphram may be ruptured, listen down by foot pedal, when you press down you will hear it hissing, and of course all vaccum lines and connections, hope this helps, good kuck ,aloha from maui todd0708

Brake pressure switch?

there is a shift lock switch located near the brake pedal , it operates a solinoid that ensures you have you foot on the brake before you can select a gear , most times it's the switch
