No there are no relays or fuses in a multi-function switch. I would start by checking your bulbs, if they're ok check your user manual to find any related fuses and check those. If they're ok also it could be your brake switch which is located by the brake pedal shaft. It gets turned on and off when the pedal is pressed. That is the order I would check to fix your problem

SOURCE: '99 zx2 wiring

I have a 2003 Ford ZX2, and I think I had the same problem before, I think it is a fuse somewhere. I believe that the breaklights and dash lights are connected. My dad is a mechanic and I will check with him.

Assuming you replaced the brake lamp switch, the replacement switch could be defective or 20A FUSE 13 in the power distribution center could be blown.

Indicater or flasher problem on jeep cherokee 2003

If your having problems with your indicater or flashers on your vehicle then their are a couple of things that would be causing you problems. Now if when you press left or right turn the light flashes fast when turning one way but not the other then this indicates you have a blown bulb on the side that is causing it to flash faster so you need to press it to that side and have a look at the front and back bulbs and change the one thats not working.

If on the other hand your flasher/indicater works sometimes and not others then this is usually down to the flasher relay located in fuse box (see pictures below)
To find out if it is the relay and not the flasher control that you press to turn the indicator lights on is to try using the hazard warning light button press this and if this works every time then the chances are its the control and not the relay (see pictures below) but if it sometimes works and sometimes dont or if it dont work at all then this points towards the relay so changing this should then solve your problem

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative lead.
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover from the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the combination flasher from the junction block

  2. make sure you line this up correctly to prevent damage being done to the pins when inserting it into the holder
  3. make sure that the flasher relay is inserted correctly and far enough make sure its seated flush the same as the other relay units.
  4. now all you need to do is re-fit the cover to the steering column
  5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

2001 PT Cruiser loss of turn signals and hazard lights after multi-function switch replacement. I replaced the multi-function switch after noticing the fogs lights staying on when not engaged. When the new...

Perhaps you need to start with fog light problem I am guessing we do not know for sure the switch was the cause, if you can remove them from the equation. When checking for shorts make sure you check light bulbs to,
Next, since the multi function switch was the next step in your problem solving, I suggest you remove the new switch check out all wires to the connector, be especially careful to make sure none of wires have pulled out or partially pulled out of the connector. Let me know when you finish this then we can move on to continuity testing.
My best guess is the connector as it is common to both your fog light and multi-function switch,
Above all don't let it get to you, these problems can be frustrating but they also can be interesting and fun especially with the right assistant

Is it difficult to change a multi function switch on a 2007 tahoe

{: ) Actually the multifunction switch itself is not difficult to change. As you can see in the diagram below, just remove the connectors and the two screws. But you will have to get past on removal of the steering wheel and steering column shroud (cover).

99 tahoe drl work, hi beams work low beams on both do not, hear so many possibilities bulbs and sockets seam ok, could it really be a ground or relay help !!!!!!

yes, it's a complicated circuit, so there are lots of possible reasons. The most likely problem is the DRL relay or the hi-lo/dimmer switch. Since you say the DRLs work, I would check the hi-lo beam switch to see if it has continuity between the tan and yellow wires when set to low beams.

Both headlights quit working simotaneously

There are just (3) possible reasons for this:
(a) your headlight switch has failed, or
(b) your headlight relay has failed.
(c) Fuse 1 (25 Amps) has blown

The headlight relay and fuse 1 are located (I think) in a fuse/relay block under the hood.
The headlight switch is part of the "Multi-function Switch" on the steering column.

Here's how to replace the 2001 PT Cruiser multi-function switch:

Multi-Function Switch Removal & Installation
1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
4. Disconnect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
5. Remove multi-function switch mounting screws and remove switch from vehicle.

To Install the new multi-function switch:

If replacing the multi-function switch, the combination flasher and windshield wiper/washer switch
must be transferred to the new multi-function switch.

1. Remove the two Torx(R) screws retaining the wiper/washer switch, place next to the new
multi-function switch and install two screws.
2. Place switch into place and install mounting screws. Torque multi-function switch to column
retaining screws to 27 inch-lbs. (3 Nm).
3. Connect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
4. Install both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Close hood.
7. Verify vehicle and system operation.

My right turn signal buzzes instead of clicks. Lamps will light if I operate the switch manually. Is this likely to be the multi function switch or the multi function relay? Where do I find the relay if...

it would be good to know which vehicle we are referring to. Most vehicles the relays fuse boxes and flashers are on the drivers side. Check your lights to make sure they are all working most of the time when lights are not working it will cause the flasher to click rapidly because of no or low current.

Breaklights not working.what can i do to fix the problem?

Look up above your brake pedal and you will see a switch connected to the arm of the pedal. This is your brake switch that controls the lights. 99% that this has failed and needs to be replaced
