SOURCE: would like to see a diagram of where exactly the

Which engine?? V6 or the 2.4I? The V6 CKP is in the engine block near the flywheel side of the engine (behind and lower right of the exhaust manifold nearest the radiator) A 10mm bolt holds it in place. On the 2.4 4cylinder, the sensor is at the front of the engine behind the Timing Belt cover at the crank shaft. To replace it, you have to remove the timing belt, but you also need to know some technical things to reinstall the belt to be sure you are installing it correctly. Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register. You'll then have access to lots of technical info and manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

Remove the plastic cover that goes over the engine (the one with the Hyundai logo).
At this point, you will see the cables that goe to each fo the spark plugs.
Noting their position, remove them.
The spark plugs are ready to be removed, turn counterclockwise and replace with manufacturer recomended ones.

Check fuses under the hood. When the crankshaft sensor shorts, it often blows this fuse. It is a 10 amp fuse. I don't remember what number it is off hand but it will be efi related.

I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe with the 6 cyl. engine. I wanted to change the spark plugs. I can get to the front ones easy enough, but the back ones appear to be under the intake manifold. How would I...

don't take the manifold off....... see if perhaps the window wiper dip tray will be enough room to access the rear plugs.....do not remove intake.

Diagram for serpentine belt

For the 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe:
I do not know if you have the 2.4L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder, 2.7L DOHC V6, or the 3.5L DOHC V6 Engine; however the Link below has all three Diagrams.

Click on the following: direct, free Link. It has the Belt Diagrams for your 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe. It also has very helpful Instructions and Directional Diagrams.

Let me know if this helped...

I need to replace spark plugs and wires on my santa fe v-6. Do i need to remove the intake manifold?

There may be an engine cover over the valve covers that is a big piece of plastic that may say Hyundai, or Santa Fe,

I believe its three or four 10mm retaining nuts that hold it on, take that engine cover off, and there should be 3 wires in the top of each valve cover, those big wires are the spark plug wires, and they actually connect to the spark plug which is down inside the cylinder.
To remove, you will need a 3/8 drive ratchet, a long extension, I would say 6-12 inches, long enough, but not too long, and a 5/8" spark plug socket.
Take one of the spark plug wires out, and put your long extension with the spark plug socket on it down into the hole that the big wire came out of and you should find a spark plug at the end of the tunnel.
