There should be 3 or 4 bolts around the alternator holding the housing together, split the housing and clip any internal wires and the rotor should be free

Two possible causes
Worn brake pads so Metal on Metal - leads to rotor damage leading to re machining of rotor (the big metal disk that the pads rub on )

Or Rotor has been worn down from machining and rotor is not dissipating heat and over heating

How do I change Rear rotors on a 2009 Mercedes e350?

remove wheels. remove brake calipers. pop off torx screws that secure the rotor on hub. use a copper or brass hammer and smack the rotor and it should dislodge off the hub. smacking the rotor with a hammer will dislodge the rust that built up on the contact surfaces of the rotor and hub which causes the rotor to be stuck on hub surface.

if the pulley on the new alternator is different to the one that was on the original one you will have to change it,you may have to take it back to where you bought it & have it changed......hope this helps......cheers.

My 96 larado dies on me when I stop at stop signs and lights I think its the altornator

Using the information provided, here are some possibilities:
  1. The Idle Air Control (IAC)- This device keeps the idle at the correct level when the A/C or other accessories are operating.
  2. The engine needs a good tune up, including plugs, rotor, cap, and wires.
  3. Replace the air filter.
The alternator can be tested at the auto parts store at no charge. This does not seem likely given the symptoms you described.

My car makes a scrapping and or grinding noise when driving and braking like i'm dragging something it is a Ford Focus SE 2004

It a small piece of metal that rubs against your rotor, to let you know the brake pads need to be changed. It's an indicator before they get worn really bad. If this is not repaired you will spend more money to replace the rotors from the metal grinding into the metal rotor.

Car and steering wheel vibrate when brakes applied

Have you inspected your front brakes, if there is no scrapping or scretching sound I suspect you have warped rotors on the front spindles, recommend changing rotors and brake pads.

1991 Loyale rotor removal

you need to take the distrubutor cap off, the first thing you will see is the rotor, theres a copper T shapped conductor on the top. stand on the drivers side right in front of the tire looking at the rotor. make sure the T shape looks as it does right there. if it is not turn the key to crank the motor so the rotor will be facing the right way. now look under the copper T and plastic part and theres screw romove the screw and the rotor will come right off just pull up.
