The #1 cause of the heated seat not working is that the heating grid is defective from all the 1000's of times it is flexed when you sit in it. To replace the grid requires the seat be taken apart and the seat cover removed, this takes skilled hands and some special tools to get done right, it is a job best left to an auto trim shop that does upholstery work

THIS MAY SOUND STRANGE BUT DO YOU FEEL ANY VIBRATION IN THE SEAT WHEN YOU HEAR THE HUMMING IF SO I WOULD SUSPECT THE U/JOINTS IN YOUR DRIVE SHAFT ARE GOING BAD

Where is the button for memory seats in 2005 cadillac cts

If there is not a 1 2 on the door arm above the window switchs then you do not have memory seats.

I have a 04 CTS and is like yours, no memory seats.

Heated Seats

I had the same problem on my 04 LeSabre. To check to see whether it was the element or the switch, I unplugged both seats and ran jumper wires to make left switch control the right element. The switch and element worked properly. Then I ran jumper wires to make right switch control the left element. The problem was the same, so it was the element was bad.

I had my element replaced at the dealership, since I didn't want to wreck my leather seats. It cost over $400 (about $150 for the element). I guess it just tucks next to the old element - the old element stays in place.
