Question about Cars & Trucks
The car running on the hi-way.and suddenly the engine shut off.we towed it to garage then we tried to start it again,it starts but there is knocking sound as if it lacks of fuel after a few seconds it off again.we replaced the fuel filter but the same problem.i removed the fuel pipe from fuel pump going to fuel rail and check if there is enough pressure.fuel coming out but im not sure if it is ok.
The first thing you need to do is have the computer control module for the engine checked for fault codes (requires a code reader available fromany parts store for about $50), if nothing shows up you may have adefective fuel pump.

I suspect you have had an oil pump failure. To get at the rotory gear oil pump you will have to drop the oil pan. After you take the pan off, ( having drained the oil the oil pump is what the oil pick up line leads into. That pick up assy. is a round shaped disc with a screen inside it. Clean the screen first then the oil pump. Install new oil pan gasket on reassembly. Hope that helps you. Please let me know.
Hopefully the engine was not damaged when the pump broke. If it was you may need a complete engine rebuild, MAYBE.
