Question about 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Without engine sizes, just could tell you that the EGR valve is a mounted on the intake manifold and has an opening
into the exhaust manifold. On some vehicles, the EGR valve is opened by
manifold vacuum to permit exhaust gas to flow into the intake manifold.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

On some Oldsmobile engine, there is no EGR valve. My 2000 2.4L (1999 production), for example, does not have one.
