SOURCE: Maintenance Required light is on before i need oil change on my 2007 Rav4

I just did this procedure 5 mins ago on my 2007 RAV....some procedures state to do it from the ODO position but that will not work....use the procedure below.

Set odometer to Trip A
Turn the key off
press and hold the ODO button.
Turn key to ON
Continue holding button while the light goes through the series of the ----countdown and then flashes 0000. Release the button and turn key to OFF.

Thats it!

OK ON YOUR SPEEDOMETER, THERES TRIP A, TRIP B, AND THE REGULAR ODMO... U NEED TO PUT IT ON TRIP A (WITH THE KEY OFF) ONCE U GET IN ON TRIP A, PUSH AND HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN,WHILE HOLDING BUTTON DOWN TURN KEY ON, YOU WILL SEE LINES POP UP ON THE ODOMETER, (WHERE THE MILES ARE DISPLAYED) THEY WILL GO OUT ONE BY ONE, ONCE IT STATES 0 YOU ARE GOOD TO GO.. To disable this light without unplugging the battery:

1. Start the car.
2. Place odometer on Trip A
3. Turn car off
4. Place your finger and hold the odometer trip button
5. Turn key to the "on" position while holding the trip button; not "acc"
6. Wait until the computer reset finishes
7. The maint reqd light will turn off

pretty standard
hold trip A in with engine and key off while holding trip button in turn key and engine on.
keep holding trip button in until light stops flashing when it stops flashing then release the trip reset button this should clear the maintenance warning light. hope this helps

How do i reset maintenance light


Insert the key into the ignition.
Press and hold the trip meter reset button. Turn the engine switch to the "on" position.
Hold the trip meter reset button until the trip meter displays "000000." The maintenance light is reset.

Reset maintenance light


Try this...
Turn the key to the 'on' position.

Press the trip button meter until it displays the "Trip A" odometer.

Turn they key to the off position.

Then while holding the trip meter down, turn the key to the 'on' position. 4 blinking dashes will display and they will count down.

When the last dash disappears 000000 is displayed to indicate the maintenance counter has been reset.

What service(s) does a 2004 rav4 need at 100,000 miles?


This is Toyota's scheduled maintenance for the RAV4 at 100,000 miles...

Replace engine oil and oil filter 1
Rotate tires
Replace engine coolant 2
Visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs
Applicable Footnotes:
1) Reset the oil replacement reminder (“MAINT REQD”) light after replacing engine oil, if vehicle is equipped with this light.
2) Initial replacement at 100,000 miles/120 months. Replace every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter. Refer to "Engine Coolant" in the "Explanation of Maintenance Items" section in the back of this guide for more information.

Tire pressure light reset code needed for 2009 Rav4.


Sorry, there is no reset 'code" on your vehicle. You need to reset all of the tire pressures, including the spare. All 5 tires are monitored. Use a good tire gauge, not one of those ones that looks like an ink pen; they are not accurate.

PUSH AND HOLD RESET ODOMETER BUTTON, TURN IGNITION IN ON POSITION ONLY (DO NOT START ENGINE)UNTIL LIGHT TURNS OFF. TURN IGNTION OFF AND START ENGINE.
BRAKE LIGHT, MAY BE LOW IN FLUID OR LOW BRAKE PADS.
