Twelve (12) degrees, but special procedures are required for proper adjustments so check the emissions label under the hood or consult a service manual before adjusting timing. Hope this helped and best wishes.

My engine timing is currently set at 5 degrees and smog tech says it needs to be set to factory specs 15 degrees? car is running great now. How do I adjust? The car is a 1993 Honda Accord wgn 4cly...

At the base of the distributor there is a metal bracket with a bolt holding the bracket to the intake manifold. This is the distributor hold down bracket and you will need to loosen the bolt a few turns. A timing light is needed to find the correct timing of the engine, so connect one to the car in proper order. With the clamp loose and the timing light on, start the car and point the timing light at the harmonic balancer where the timing gauge is located on the timing belt cover. The light will show you where the timing is and so adjust the distributor (clockwise or counter-clockwise) until the desired setting is achieved. When the timing is set, turn off the car and tighten up the hold down bolt, be careful not to turn the distributor, and this is how to set the timing.
