I have a 1999 Jetta. My problem is that I broke one of the climate control button facias - the one that redirects the airflow towards your feet. Everything else with the climatronic system is fine. How can I get a replacement button facia? The dealer wants $542 to replace the entire control unit, plus an estimated $300 to install it. This piece I am looking for probably costs less than $1

Audi Climatronic System have a sync feature thanks to which you can control all climate zones in your car with just a single temperature knob.
Just press and hold knob on the drivers side and the sync will activate.
you have to remove the front bumper facia
remove all the push pins under the hood
remove both front wheels
remove both inner fenders
disconnect the fog light harness
3 bolts on each side that hold the front fenders to the facia
the front facia should slide off
then remove the 10mm bolts for the headlight
hope this helps
you will need to completely remove the front facia (bumper to get access to the fog lamp assemblies as they are bolted in from behind. No big deal. There are a few screws along the top of the facia under the hood along with some plastic push pins ( you may want some extra ones on hand before starting this) There is a screw where the facia meets the front quarter panels in the wheel wells and there are about 8 push pins along the bottom of the facia that need to come out. Then lift out. No sweat right! For real though it isnt. Just a side note, while you have the facia off you now have easy access to the windshield washer pump motor. This is a perfect time to remove the pump, clean the screens and flush your resivor tank out. Getting clogged pumps seem to be common place on hyundai's vehicles. Please let me know if this helps.
