SOURCE: Hood Won't Open, and Lever Broke

Hi viper852004 , the only way you can do this is to remove the front grills and then you will be able to see the 2 sprung bonnet pegs, you will need to loosen the adjusting nut where it screws into the hood and unscrew it until it becomes unattatched from the hood, do this for both pegs and then you should be able to release the hood to fix the problem. the pegs will need to be reinstalled before driving the car as the hood will not close, hope this is of some help, regards mark.

SOURCE: trunk and hood manual latch won't work

That is not the problem the problem is your convertable roof is not closing properly to test this let someone press down on the roof lid and then try to open the trunk, To fix this let the roof lid open and let the roof come up until the back part stands up to let the roof lid close so that the roof hold is exposed look on the right hand side of the car (if your standing at the back) under the roof lid catch there is a small plastic buttun that the roof lid catch needs to pres down on, this tells the car that the roof lid is seucre and it is now safe to let open the trunk, All you have to do is set the tension on the cable for that roof lid catch and the problem is sorted.

I have a 96 Volvo 850. The hood pops open from the release latch in the cab. The safety latch in front of the car that comes out from the grill will not release the hood from opening Suggestions?

I have the same problem on mine. Once the hood is released inside the cabin, do the following:
Push the release in on the hood, then pull up a bit on the hood and then the release should pull out completely unlocking the hood. Hope this helps.

Bmw troubleshoot

Has anyone been inside the door panel recently? If so it is possible they did not plug the actuator connector back up. using a pencil, try to engage the latch and lock it. Does it lock? Does it release when you pull the inside or outside handle? The latches can internally fail without notice. It is possible the actuator is frozen. If it is it will need to be replaced.

07 BMW 750I HOW TO REMOVE OUTER DOOR HANDLE

To remove the outer handle, open the door and while looking at the edge of the door with it open, you should be looking at the side that the door latch lever is on, look near the top area and you should see a small black plastic oval piece. Remove that piece. Take a flash light and look inside the hole. There will be a brass lever inside with a small hole. Use a pick and insert in the brass slide. If you either push or pull the lever to or away, it will release the outer handle assembly. The assembly levers upwards when removing.

try having a second person wiggle and lift on hood while you pull on the release handle inside. most times this will open it but it also means the latch needs adjusted and it will keep doing the same till set right.
