2003 Acura TL - heater fan making noise

When I run the Heater/AC, I hear this noise as if there are leaves in the fan. How to access the fan and take a closer look? Thanks!

I have a 1996 acura 2.5 TL. When I turn on the heater I hear the fan making a noise louder than before. I also smell some kind of oil or grease. This just happened after not warming up the car and driving it in 20 degree weather. Help me fix this.

There are many reasons:

1. Oil smell means your motor is burnt.
2. Check the connections to the motor.
3. Check the coolant.
4. Check the inlet and outlet pipes.
5. Check the fuses.
6. Check the transmitter of the motor.

Hey Dave, The resister is located on the left side of the blower motor on the passeger side. There are different applications of this part depending on model. Some models have driver & passenger or dual zone climate controls. This means there can be -2- different speed settings & tempature settings, & Then you have your normal where there is only -1- set of settings for the speed & tempature settings. Some are black or white in color ... Hope this helps

Heater is only blowing cold air

1: if engine not hot 180F there will be no cab heater.
2: fan must blow, it seems it does.
3: the mode switch must be in heat and the lever to max heat.
4: heater valve bad or clogged.
5: heater core insides clogged, (no coolant service every 2yr)
6: outside of heater core packed in leaves or pin needles.
7: dampers set wrong. in heater box.
8: controller of damages , bad.

do you want me guess, or to recommend tests.

Possible thermostat but more likely fan belt is slipping when idling causing waterpump to slow or even stop spinning. Tighten or replace fan belt that runs over waterpump pulley
