Most cooling fans on GM products are set to come on at 212 F. Its temperature input comes from your coolant temperature sensor--to the ECM which closes a relay to turn on the electric fans. Hope this helps.
Also atleast one of your fans should come on when you turn on your air conditioner that should let you know if your circuit is working.

Probably blew ignition switch fuse & now need to replace it. As far as cooling fan problem you need to check coolant level first. Make sure system has no air in it. If that doesnt provide solution change temperature sensor.

1997 3800 v6 olds cooling fans will not operate when car is at 200 degres fans do operate when ac is turned on temp sensor appears to be functioning when unpluged gauge does not work ...

Check your fan fuses in the fuse box. If the fuse is good, you probably have a bad fan or a bad wire in the harness. Check to locate bad wires or burnt wires.

While im say in a drive thru and my car is in drive and sitting my temputer gage goes to hot but when i start driving it goes back to cold , what does that mean?

Cooling fan not operating properly or cooling fins in radiator are clogged. You are not getting sufficient air flow through radiator until the vehicle is moving.

COOLING FAN WONT KICK ON. DID A JUMP TO THE BATTERY FROM THE OUTSIDE PLUG AND FAN KICKED ON. BOUGHT A NEW RELAY FOR UNDER THE DASH BUT FAN STILL WONT COME ON. IS THERE A FUSE TO?

The cooling fan relay is located in the engine compartment just behing the left headlamp...not under the dash. There are cooling fan test connectors built into the wiring harness near the left strut tower. The cooling fan relay is controlled by the cooling fan temperature switch located on the rear of the engine. There are 3 temperature sending units on your car if it is equipped with a temperature gauge. If not, there are 2 sending units, One is for the computer and the other is for the fan relay.

The one for the cooling fan will have 2 wires, one Tan and Orange and the other Brown and White.

The cooling fans and cooling fan relay get their power from fusible links built into the wiring harness near the starter relay.

Circuit Protection The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering column.
Fuses are a one-time circuit protection. If a circuit is overloaded or shorts, the fuse will blow thus protecting the circuit. A fuse will continue to blow until the circuit is repaired.

Main fuse box located on driver's side to the left of the steering wheel, above the brake pedal.

Where are the cooling fan relays for a 1998 Cadillac Deville Northstar located?

Are you sure that you don't mean the cooling fan control module? It should be located up front next to the cooling fan. It is square shaped and has a long square shaped plug going into it. 00114_cooling_fan_control.jpgReads the temperature of the coolant and passes the information to the engine control computer (ECC). The ECC receives analog information and signals the cooling fan switch to cycle the cooling fan on or off, as required.
