Question about Cars & Trucks
I have a Case 580 Super L with a diesel engine. This machine starts and runs fine when the weather is warm or if it is stored inside. When the machine stays outside in the cold weather it will start, run for maybe 20 - 30 seconds shut down and will not restart. I also have a Case 590 super L and it starts every time. It seems that if I bleed the injection system at the injectors and hit it with either, it will start but again die shortly. i have checked the lines going to the primer pump, the pump itself, and all seems OK. Why would this seem to run out of fuel only when cold? Where should I check next, I was leaning maybe towards the injector pump timing. The shutoff solonoid has been replaced already and still the same. Any info would be appreciated, Thanks, jon

most likely idle air control sensor or low engine coolant I know sounds funny but IAC uses coolant to regulate idle. Idle air control valve or throttle body positioning sensor.

SOURCE: cold start valve problem
if you have an electric cold start valve make sure to unplug it and if keeps apling fuel with electrical conector unpluged that means the valve is not good, but if not then you have an electronic problem, possible a bad cold start sensor or cold start module or cicuit problem, and might be a time to take it to an electrical shop

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump

you need to have the engine coolant switch
checked, since the computer relies solely on sensors, the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the
computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the
computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting
a car in the winter without a choke.
