I'd be concerned a linkage has come adrift in the back end somewhere, or one of the rear struts has failed and lost its oil. Another possibility is that a rear wheel is loose, either at the wheel nuts or the hub itself.

Here is a diagram, at p 80 and p 89.

Have a look under there and compare it to this, try to see if anything has fallen off. Look at the rear strut towers to see if there is any fluid leak visible which might indicate one side is not functioning.

With the car jacked up, grab each rear wheel at the tread, front and rear, then top and bottom, give it a hard shake to see if you can feel any looseness.

Never get under the car when supported only by a jack of any type. Use axle stands or wheel ramps.

Could be the lower control are bushing, it apparently is an issue with that model year.  Big bucks (850 CDN$) to fix as the 'whole' front end needs to be partially dropped and both should be done at the same time.  A mechanic should be able to see if that is a problem while the car is on the hoist.  The mechanic should be able to point to the area or point where the contact is being made. Mine lasted till 100,000 km, I heard it on the second hand test drive ( at 90,00 km) and asked a buddy ( a Toyota Master Mechanic) about it and he made me aware of it; i bought the car anyways.

Firstly, ensure you have the required 'mixture' of coolant/water (must have required coolant).

Second, I would recommend you re-test all the cooling system sensors again (make sure they're within specifications), in case a new one is faulty.

Third, ensure the new thermostat was of the correct temp setting (they all differ), so that it opens at the required time. Most cooling systems operate within 90 - 100degC.

Fourth, make sure the radiator (and associated hoses) aren't blocked.

If your temp gauge is reading higher than normal, but NOT in the danger zone...then this can be considered normal (especially if you've replaced with new components) and nothing to be concerned about.

However, if the temp gauge IS in the danger zone....then this suggests the coolant is not flowing through the cooling system properly.

If all above components test ok, then it's possible your water pump may not be pumping enough volume.

Your best bet is to get a service manual, which can usually be found on ebay. A third party manual by Haynes usually costs about $25.

I have a knocking noise coming from the rear end . sounds like the left back. i have replaced new shocks and tyres. brake discs are fine. toyota camry 220 sei 1996 model

This model usually wears out the rubber bushes in the rear sway bar retainers to the body, causing an annoying knock. Have a look there. See p95

New shocks never go astray in a car that age, they give you, um, a tight rear end.

What could be causing clunking in rear end?

From previous repairs at work for similar complaints, I believe the noise is comming from your strut mounts. These are the plates that mount on the top of the struts. It is a metal plate with a rubber insulator, the rubber tends to weaken over time and allows excesive movement.

This model often develops a noise from worn rear sway bar bracket bushings. They are inexpensive, so I would replace them and see if that was the problem.

Car makes a rattle noise on the littlest bump should I be concerned

Probably not, but we can't say until it is identified.
A very common cause of this in Camrys is that the rear suspension anti-sway bar retainer bushings become worn. See p 95

If you think the noise is more to the front then maybe a ball joint is worn, possibly the rack end ball joint or tie rod end.
Jack the front wheel up on each side in turn, grab the wheel at each side and shake it back and forth as hard as you can. If you hear or feel looseness, the problem is in the steering, as above.
Then shake the wheel while holding it at top and bottom. If you feel looseness then, the problem is in the front suspension joints somewhere.
Repeat this on the other front wheel. Let it down on the ground, then bounce each front corner up and down as hard as you can (you might have to have a second person with you doing this). If you hear a clunk or feel excessive bounciness, it is the shock absorber strut making noises. When bouncing like this, the car should resist, and not keep bouncing when you let go.

97 Camry XLE 6Cyl. Rattling noise fron driver side when bump. A broken bar that is bolted to a vertical bar is swinging around what part is it?

It sounds like #20 on this diagram?

If so that is the sway bar link, sway bar end or sway bar end link depending on part manufacturer. It is a very common wear item on Camry's and I would replace both sides.

If it is a different part please post back and I can name it for you.

Possible tranny or engine mount. Check bushings. Check brake pad backing plates (loose), check brake pad movement (add shims), but most likely mounts. you need to torque the engine while an assistant checks for bad mounts.
