Question about 1995 GMC Sierra
1st, for less than $10, change pcv (or egr...if thats whats on ur truck). itll be on the valve cover. should b a diagran when u pop the hood right above the grille, or on the underside of the hood.
usually, if too much oil gunks up the pcv (egr)...thats the first step a computer tries harder to fix on vacuum systems and everything starts to go bad/get slow.
+++++ all during this time--- i would disconnect the neg- batt term to reset the computer. she might be a hard start the first time, but its the first cheap step to fix.

SOURCE: 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 rear brakes
The first problem that I see is.....
You got screwed, the rear brake shoes and the parking brake shoes and the same thing. The parking brake uses your back brake pads to set the brake.

take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

the turbo 350 doesn't have a output speed sensor like the trans that came with the truck orginaly. You will have to use a cable to drive a pluse generator,or switch the tail shaft housing with a 700r4e housing of the same length, and use the speed sender from the 700r4e or early 4l60e. note the tail shaft is the same splines but the 350 shaft detent hole my not line up with the relucture ring. therfor the output shaft needs to be change to, or have a relucter ring made.

The switch or the wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. Common would be the switch it self, if the switch is good. Then it's going to be the wire leads at the speed resistor by the blower motor under the glove box by the passenger leg compartment. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Sierra running 100% again soon.
