    This panel is fine.

I managed to pull out the picture to share.

What I mean is at the speedometer / odometer panel, there is a couple of indicator...........

    Example:

    i)airbag - red light

    ii)hand brake - red light

iii)light indicator - yellow (amber) light

    iv)etc

When I switch on my switch light or turn ON my headlight - the dim light / front light - the above Example iii) indicator also light up.

I understand that when any of the lighting buld blown that iii) indicator will light up as an indicator - It suposed to be light OFF once the the blown bulb been replaced. I try to check out the all the lighting at my camry - are working fine BUT the iii) light indicator still ligt up whenever I trigger my headlight switch including when I just ON the front dim light.

Thanks for the effort - looking at my concern.

    Yes sir!

That is the little one in yellow/amber light color - EVERYtime I switch on the light (front light).

It is located under the analog temperature indicator.

Can you please help to confrim the fault??

    Thanks.

Whenever I switch on my car switch light or turn ON my headlight - the dim light / front light -

    the problem occur.

It is an indicator (that look like a yellow car with line coming out of the back of it)

We are in malaysia (right hand drive) - and for this model the indicator is located at the odometer.

It is below the temperatrure indicator at the left side of the odometer.

    Thanks for the guildance.

i'll check the tail & brake lamp again.

With regards to the light intensity, does that mean the bulb has to be same voltage/watt rating for the left side vs the right side?

I hope it is just a burned bulb & nothing serious. Thanks.

I did spot a tail lamp that is not light up - I open up the boot & remove the bulb from the connector. Phycically look OK. Put it back & try OK - light up.

    I did confrim the following;

    i) 3rd brake light - OK

    ii) Reverse light ( L + R ) - OK

    iii) tail lamp ( L + R ) L-OK, R-not light up. Unplug fr the connector & insert back - test OK.

iv) taIL lamp - BRAKE LIGHT - OK.

But.... the yellow car with lines coming out of the back still light up at the front meter.

I check all the signal light using the hazard sw - all light up + blinking.

I turn the pilot lamp - light up OK.

I tried the headlight - light up OK

All light up - seem OK - but the little yellow car still light up!

    Going crazy...

Ahhh. I see. The yellow car with the lines coming out of the back. That symbol indicates that you have a burned out tail-lamp, or a burned out brake lamp. Turn the headlamps on, and check all of the rear lights. Check to see if any are burned out, or dim. The must ALL be of the same intensity. Then, have someone press the brake pedal, and check all of the brake lamps. Don't forget to check the center brake lamp, in the lower portion of the rear window. I'm pretty sure that you are going to find a burned out bulb. Hope this helps. Please get back to me on what you find. Thanks.

Yes. The bulbs must be the same wattage and the same manufacturer. Different suppliers have different wattages. The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Are all 5 brake lamps working? The car should have 2 brake lamps per side. Also, check the outermost taillamp, at the extreme edge of the lamp assembly. If that is all good, then, you need to consider replacement of the box that interprets the bulbs, which is in the boot.

How to fix my toyota camry front and back lights

well off the top of my pointed head, i would say you have a bad switch. you can verify this by injecting pos. voltage at the switch. also use a test light or meter at the switch, turn on the lights and see if you have voltage. if you dont problem solved, if you do look for a relay that could be bad. good luck.

Instrument panel lite on 2000 toyota camry indicates backup lites out lites are on but very dim replaced all bulbs and fuses still doesnt work need help

Check for adequate grounding of these sockets!

A good bulb that's dim usually indicates a weak or broken ground path.

You should be able to use a test lead to offer the socket a good ground. If the dash light goes off, problem solved!
