SOURCE: Were is the cam sensor on a 1996 chevy 5.7 liter

if you are referring to the CPS camshaft position sensor, it doesn't appear that your engine has one. my auto parts store catalog says that it has no info for that part. I have a 95 chevy van with a 5.7 and it doesn't have a cps..........

Cylinders 1 and 3 misfiring on 2.4 Liter 97 chevy malibu

code p 0300 is random/ multiple cylinders ----misfires detected ===causes ---spark plugs ---HT lead/s---injector/s---ignition coil/s---low compression---wiring
he has changed a lot for nothing
a 5 year old engine can have a lot wrong with it --so new out of a crate is no guarantee
most misfires are from injector problems
it could be a loose valve seat insert so have a compression test done if moving the injectors to new locations doesn't move the misfire
