Antifreeze leaking from passenger side firewall area

I just found the problem and wanted to post this for anyone who can use this info. I replaced the thermostat, and still had a leak with no fluid coming from the overflow. fyi- There's a air/heater valve under there. Maybe someone may know why this is leaking or maybe it just went bad.;)

SOURCE: antifreeze/coolant leaking from under passenger side dash

If it's your heater core, unless you're a mechanic you probably should get professional help. The heater core is located on the firewall and many parts need to be replaced to get to it. Do you see water on the floor inside the vehicle, Many times a heater core will leak inside.

That should be the hose and pipes that feed or return coolant from the heater core thru the firewall.

SOURCE: 99 chevy silverado heater doesn't blow hot air,

In addition to faulty actuator motors, the blend door itself can also be broken. This happened on my Tahoe. Typically it is a very labor intensive and costly fix to replace a broken blend door, as the dash must be removed and the plenum assembly replaced. There is a DIY kit from heatertreater.net that provides steel hardware as well as instructions on how to perform the repair by removing the glove box rather than the entire dash.
This is also an alternative to replacing the 'difficult to access' top actuator motor underneath the dash. The kit contains a single blend door which converts the dual control to single control, and is operated off of the bottom actuator motor, which can be accessed by removing the glovebox. If you are having issues with your blend door, or the 'top blend door actuator motor behind the dash' it is worth looking into.

2000 Impala leaks coolant out hose in firewall

It sounds like you're looking at the heater core water lines. These connect to the heater core supply and return inlet and outlet pipes to bring hot coolant into the cabin for heat and windshield deicing.

The heater core is a mini radiator and operates on the exact same principles as the radiator does. The heater core is located behind the dash board on the passenger side. Look for a wet spot of antifreeze on the passenger side floor area - close to the firewall for an indication of a leaky heater core. If it is leaking, it will likely need to be replaced. This can be a pricey repair.

Good luck!

I have a 2003 Impala. It hasnt rained for a few weeks and a leak has sprung by the glove box near the passenger side. I looked online and alot of sites said it might be the window not sealed correctly but...

There is a drain tube that clogs up. It is on the firewall under the hood on the passenger side. You have to access it from under the car. Use a stiff wire and clean it out. Sometimes you can clean it with a water hose and sprayer. Just don't put a lot of water in it. Spray a little, let it drain, Do this till you don't see any mold coming out. If it clears out and you still have water issues. Replace the heater core.

Under the hood is a drain for the cowling under the wiper arms. There is a plastic tube that gets clogged and water can't drain from that area. It is against the firewall on the passenger side. I found mine full of pine needles

Yes your in the right area, it should be up under passenger side behind housing etc., where blower motor is located. If you haven't noticed coolant return bottle level going down then I would have the cooling system pressure tested to see if it drops, indicating a leak somewhere. Also check all your hoses and connections especially near firewall where they go in to vehicle, in case there is a small leak at fitting or hose and the fumes from it are being drawn in through fresh air intake under cowl at base of windshield. It might just be an external leak, and fumes are being drawn into cab.

Water leaking on pass side under heater box. Not antifreeze just when raining no it's not the windshield checked it for leaks.

If the AC is not on when it leaks during the raining, AND you are SURE it is not the windshield....It can only be coming in from 1 of 2 other places...your firewall or the firewall break...Somewhere towards the center of the firewall, a rubber grommet is missing or torn or loose, allowing the water to enter...Or you have a leak along the firewall brrak area at the top ridge that goes from the drivers to passenger side in that vented looking area where the wiper and / or fresh air door for the AC is located.
