Hi, laszlo. This hendrik is long gone. On mazda's inectors 1 & 3 wll fire atame time, then 2 & 4 will fire at same time. it is wired that way. All 4 injectors have a constant voltage to them with key on. When the

Add a CommentECU internally grounds the circuit, the solenoid in the injector is energized and a pulse is triggered. the injector sprays fuel when pulsed. injectors 1 & 3 have their ground wires spliced together before the wire goes into the ECU. (same with injectors 2 & 4) . if your injectors fire all at same time, the ECU needs to be investigated. What have you done, and how did you determine the condition?

Listen for the fuel pump to turn on with the key ON. Do you hear it buzz on for a couple of seconds, and then shut off? If you do, the pump is working. If you don't hear it, the pump is bad or the wiring to the pump is not working. Check the relay.
Usually, on a four cylinder with multi-port injection, injectors 1 and 3 fire simultaneously, and then injectors 2 and 4 will fire at same time (because their ground wires are spliced together before entering the computer. When the computer internally grounds the wire, the injectors will pulse). Are you certain that all four are pulsing at same time? If so, that may be the Mazda way. But I think you are right to believe it is a fuel problem. Test the pump as stated above, key on (not start) and listen for pump to turn on.
Good luck.

Yes, I have a mazda 323 1988. & it starts & idles fine, but when I press the accelarater it dies. I was wondering if u might have a clue on what might be causing that to happen

Mr. Barnett, is it carb. or injection. If it is carb possible you do have a dirt inside the car where you surely need a mechanic to inspect and clean. If your vehicle is injection then are the following :1. either the throttle body is dirty on throttle and needs cleaning, 2. probably the air flow meter is faulty or dirty, 3. the fuel pressure on acceleration is not sufficient,4. fuel filter is nearly logged. Ask for a mechanic to help you is better instead you try to if you do not know many things about mechanics.

Fuel consumption

This has to be done by a good mechanic. Either you used a heavy viscosity engine oil, not appropiate for full injections, and know you must have a darnish-brown rock pasted in the twin cam heading or a built up in the oil suctioner pan at the crankcase. Clean everything and you will be surprised on results.
