SOURCE: Fusible Links on 1972 Ford F 250 PU

follow the wire where you think the link may be, and and where the large bulge is, is where the link usually is, now the fuse is not usually non-replaceable, so you can go to a parts house and get an aftermarket fuse link that can easily be installed. take the voltage regulator with you and have it tested to insure it was not damaged.
also check all fuses in the fuse box. and the link on the main wire on the back of the alternator.

Fusible link wire is a fuse in itself.
You would have to go to the auto parts store and get a replacement.
The amp. rating is stamped on the wire.

SOURCE: jumper cables hooked up wrong .Killed battery or

This can do some real damage however check the fuse block under hood. Look for a 40 and 30 amp fuse and check if ok. Also there are two 10 amp fuses that go to engine computer and module. That's a good place to start and it is possible it blew a fuse link which are on the lower front of engine compartment. (this is based on the 2.4 engine but the V6 is similar.

SOURCE: 1992 Toyota Camry won't crank

Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable, usually, but not 100% on that car.
Good luck.

How to change fusible link to alternator on 2002 ford tausus

IF your car even has a fusible link it will be on the positive battery cable which goes to the alternator. Make sure you disconnect the negative cable from the battery also when you go to remove the positive cable. This is also a dealer item so you'll have to go to FORD to buy the new cables which they usually only sell as a set. Be prepared to pay $75 - $100 for the cables.

If the fusible link is blown, I'd suggest testing the Alternator to make sure it isn't over charging or spiking, that fusible link should be good for about 175 amps so it really shouldn't blow unless there's another problem like a faulty regulator.

What can i do to fix it?

You may have blown fuses or fusible links. Is the battery charged up now? Make sure of that before proceeding. Do the headlights work? If no, check Fusible link B, located at the starter solenoid-where it picks up power from the positive battery cable at the starter solenoid.

Does the key switch turn on? Do the warning lights and gauges turn on with the key in on position? If no, check Fusible link A at the starter solenoid. Link A supplies power to the ignition switch.

If a fusible link has blown it can be cut out and replaced. It may look burned-it may have bulges in the wire-it protects circuits just like a fuse, but has somewhat different characteristics than a fuse.

Post back wtih what you have so far. Maybe I can help you more?

Crossed jumper cables when jumping battery on a 03 Chrysler town and country. What kind of fuse am I looking for fusible link or mini fuse?

Crossing the battery leads to one major fault and that is the destruction of the CPU in the ECM unit. The fusible links are either cloth covered wire next to the battery or ceramic type fuse holders in a block next to the battery.

Was welding on the frame and now my truck won't start, lights won't come on, windows won't go up or down. Replaced the computer but that did not fix it. It's a 93 GMC 3500 one ton dually 454 2 wheel drive.

I'm guessing you were doing arc welding as opposed to gas welding, right? Battery should be disconnected any time you're arc welding. Check the fusible link located somewhere along the positive battery cable (the positive cable may run to a battery junction box with up to five fusible link cables coming out of it). Check voltage from battery positive cable (cable connected) or continuity (cable disconnected) to downstream point beyond fusible link. Fusible links cannot be repaired - they must be replaced. Good luck.

I reversed the cables on battery and now the truck will not start

Look for a blown fuse,or fusible links to be burned out, these fusible links will bolt onto the starter with the positive cable,I do not know what year it is,but if it is a newer model, there is a fuse on the rail,on passengers side, near the radiator,it will be a flat fuse with two mounting bolts on each side of it,150 amp,or 200 amp,or lower, disconnect the battery before replacing it.

My pacifica was running fine. I stopped and turned it off then tried to start it again after 10 minutes and it would not turn over. U can not even get the starter to try and turn over

there may be a high amp fuse blown or a fusible link blown. check all fuses in the passenger compartment and under the hood. if you find no fuses bad, a fusible link is a large red cable that has a fuse in line. check the red cables leading from the battery to the starter for bulges in the line.

check for blown fuses in fuse boxes under dash on left & under hood.check for a blown 'fusible link' a wire leading from battery + terminal to the electrical box near the battery.a fusible link is a wire designed to 'melt' in case of a short.outside of link will appear blistered, and a new one needs to be soldered in it's place.
