Probably bad vss (vehicle speed sensor). No Cruise operation without speed sensor input to engine control module.

Your speed sensor has failed. The vehicles speedometer is not cable controled, it's controled by a sensor in your transmission. It's a easy fix, but the new sensor is about $80 to $100 depending on where you get it.

If it is a 5 speed manual, then you add Transmission oil under the car on the upper side of the transmission. Under the hood on fire wall side there is the speedometer cable. You must remove lock down bolt with # 10 socket and lift straight up. That is where you add/check your Transmission fluid on a 5 speed. Clean the area first and it's fairly simple.
The tube where the dipstick for the Automatic transmission is where you add the Transmission fluid. You will probably need one of those funnels with the really long neck, so that you can get the fluid into the tube without pouring it all over the place. Be careful that you don't overfill the transmission!
Good luck and hope this helps.

Your Vehicle velocity sensor has gone bad or the wire harness has gone bad. Check the wire harness first and if that is good, then replace the sensor. You can find the sensor on the transmission out put shaft on the drivers side. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.
