i would check the coil first though. sounds to me like a no spark issue.

OK, the starter turns the engine over, and you can hear (?) the fuel pump. Check
* is there any spark? Use a timing light to check. If no spark, then the spark generation system (coil(s), igniter or other) is not working.

If there is spark, then pull the timing belt covers and check that you have not slipped a few teeth. If the PT has an interference engine (as I suspect), you may have bent some valves.

If the timing belt is OK, do a compression test.

When you turn on the ignition, does the Check Engine light flash then turn off? Could be a failing / failed ECU.

How to replace cam position sensor on a 2002 isuzu rodeo 2.2 engine

the sensor is under the timing belt cover at the top of the engine. If you are looking at the engine you'll see a black strip covering your spark plugs, your electrical connection on the camshaft position sensor is under there go ahead and disconnect the sensor. Next is the removal of the timing belt cover. You will need to take the bolts holding the cover in place they will hold it all the way down to the bottom of the engine. The bolt in the center top section is actually the bolt holding the sensor in place inside the engine so you will need to look and see how to maneuver the sensor out after the bolt is removed. Replace with new sensor and replace bolts. Plug electrical connector into the top of the sensor and replace spark plug cover. You are now done. have a good day !! 2.2 engine,

Car stopped and wont hit i can hear the fuel pump kicking in

How does the car sound when you crank the starter? Does it sound normal like you are getting compression, or does it sound very fast and quiet? Have someone crank the starter and check Is there any back-pressure coming out the exhaust tailpipe. If the engine cranks very quiet and it feels like nothing comes out the tailpipe, there is a good possibility the timing belt has broken. You can verify this by removing either the valve cover or the timing belt cover.

If this is not the case, you will have to move down the checklist of check for spark, check the distributor and ignition coil, make sure the distributor connections are secure, check that fuel is actually making it into the cylinders (remove a spark plug and crank, sniff for fuel smell in cylinder), check the vacuum system lines, and so on.

Good luck and let me know what you find.

It runs but you push the gas it miss like crazy and no power

It sounds like the plug wires are allowing the spark to arc through the boots causing the car to misfire the insulation brakes down over time and they arc to the valve cover not to the spark plugs good time to change the plugs too.

Engine shakes after changing sparks plugs & wires on 02ChevyTahoe

could be a bad plug even know they are new one might be bad , first check in the dark for any arcing (blue sparks) coming from wires might be a split in one of the spark boots ,make sure on there good, also a chance you put wire to wrong cylinder
