Open Question

Tahoe speaker fuse

My 2 front bose speakers just stopped working the other day. Could this be a fuse problem? Odd that they would both stop at the same time

SOURCE: Front two speakers just stopped working.

I have an 05 Cobalt that just experienced the same problem. I had my door panels off and my speakers appear to be dead.

If you have a multimeter, you can pull the speaker out and test to see if you get resistance across the two terminals. It should say on the speaker what the resistance should be (most likely 4 ohms). If you get no reading, you most likely will have to replace the speaker.

You could also test for AC voltage on the speaker wires. When the stereo is on, and set to a reasonably loud value, you should get a few volts. If you don't get any reading at the door, it may be either the wiring or the stereo. To determine which it is, you will have to take readings at the stereo output.

Hope this helps.

2000 oldsmobile bravada factory bose system 4 of six speakers just died

The amp fuse should be in the fuse box in the dash, it is fuse 20 and it should be a 25amp fuse that is clear in color. Although looking at the diagram, all the speakers go through the factory amp. So you may have another issue.

2000 chevy tahoe speaker wiring

This will depend on whether it's a Bose system, or not.
Non-Bose AC/Delco radioFront Speakers are:L. (-) Light GrayL. (+) TanR. (-) Lt. GreenR. (+) Dk. Green
Rear:L. (-)YellowL. (+)BrownR. (-)Lt. BlueR. (+)Dk. Blue
Be sure to test the connections, as you will notice that there are 2 Yellow wires, 2 Brown wires and 2 grey wires behind the factory radio.

GM pairs all the speakers into separate 4-pin plugs for front and rear. If the factory harness is intact, I'd suggest just getting wire harness adapter from any of your local car audio shops, you'll also need a GM mini antenna adapter, if you are hooking up a new stereo.
