SOURCE: thermostat on 1998 Isuzu Amigo

Yes, It's under the intake manifold. The manifold would need to be removed Lower hose from radiator is attached to steel pipe leading to it. It will not be an easy mission, and the new thermostat is rated for I believe 170 degrees. That's not much help to keep the interior warm with a rag top when it's 20 below zero.

You can boost the heating level by adding vinyl cover over the front portion of grill. Any boat interior shop has the material. Modify any large air leaks. Use the fan to keep fresh air filling vehicle, not recirculate.

Whats the torque settings/pattern for headbolts on a 1998 isuzu pick up truck?

Basic Torque sequences are printed in the more poular DIY Repair manuals sold at Auto Stores. These are COPYWRITTED & I cannot qoute from them without prior permission. There are names such as "Clymer", "Haynes", & "Chilton's" all helpful & good in thier own respects. THEY ARE copywritted. SStep 1: before you even begin a torque sequence, have you taken a "true metal" Straight edge, & taken in diagonally from LH upper corner to RH lower corner, to see if there is warpage, (gap) between the head & the straight edge. Step 2; Go from RH upper corner, to LH lower corner, & again check for gap (warpage) between the head & the straight edge. A "universally" accepted torque sequence is to take your total torque spec's, divide them by 3 & torque in 3 steps. Say it is 90 Ft Lbs. Tighten 30 Ft Lbs, Then 60 Ft Lbs, then 90 Ft Lbs. On an aluminum head; start in the center, top, (or bottom) take it to the 1st 30 ft lb, go to the bolt immediately across from it & repeat. Then take the closest diagonal bolt from it & do the same, cross agin, diagonally to the closest diagonal bolt, & countinue to the last bolt. Take your torque wrench to 2nd Ft Lb setting, repeat. Take your torque wrench to the 3rd setting, repeat to finish. Note: Do to propriety Izuzu, the given Torque Ft Lbs given were for informational instruction only & are ficttious. You must use the proper Ft Lbs recommended buy the Manufacturer.

Torque for head for a 2.5 for an 1985 Buick Skylark

Loosen Headbolts in this order:

1 5 4
3 6 2

Tighten Headbolts in this order:

3 1 6
5 2 4

Following the tightening order, torque Head Bolts as following:

1. Torque All to 22 Ft Lbs
2. Torque all to 51 Ft Lbs
3. Loosen all 180 degrees
4. Loosen all 180 degrees
5. Torque Center Two bolts to 25 Ft Lbs
6. Torque Outer 4 bolts to 11 Ft Lbs
7. Tighten all bolts 90 degrees
8. Tighten all bolts 90 degrees again

Make sure you tighten all of them down the first 90* and then go back and tighten them another 90*. Also make sure you put some lube between the bolt and the washer, and put some sealant on the bolt threads. Use GM Thread Sealant.

Replacing head

There should be 10 headbolts. This vehicle uses torque to yield headbolts and should be replaced with the new gasket. Bolts 1-8 get torqued to 40 ft lbs initially, bolts 9 and 10 get torqued to 30 ft lbs initially, Then all bolts get turned an additional 90 degrees. I would strongly suggest borrowing a torque angle gauge for doing this or you might be doing the same repair next week.
