my 2001 Beetle sometimes spudders on intial startup and after driving 30 mins it will eventually become normal and smooth out....its done this for a year....and ive noticed that it ONLY does this after it rains, so im thinkin it has something to do with moisture, im just not sure whats getting wet and how o fix it....help plz..?

We had the same problem with our daughters car and we changed the coil pack it had a pin hole in it and in cold weather it was worse. The Coil pack was $100.00 but was simple to replace. It did fix the problem.

Go buy some fuel injection cleaner. Slick50 is a good choice. Your problem will probably be fixed after 10 minutes running on the highway.

We have a 1993 cutlass sierra with less than a 100,000 miles, all of a sudden it started sputtering and shaking when driven, any suggestions what could be the issue

It could be multiple things. The easiest I would start with is the spark plugs and spark plug wires. If they are bad it will cause a misfire in the motor which would cause shaking. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace. It could also be a plugged fuel filter, a weak fuel pump, bad distributor cap, these are just a few things to check out. It's hard to tell what it is without actually being there. But here are the basic rules, no compression, no fuel, no spark, no start.

Smoking, sputtering, and shaking

You have a check engine light so you know what to do now

Why would you use a car with those issues & not have a shop
at least get a start on some possible solutions

Check engine light on and flashing, car shaking, all of a sudden

you have a bad engine missfire. a flashing check engine light means you are in danger of damaging your catylitic converter and you should scan the car. most causes of missfires are plug wires and or coil pack.

I have a 2000 ford expedition. Out of the blue it started sputtering and shaking when I accelerate. Vehicle has144,000 miles.

Sounds like one of the coil over plugs have gone bad. this will cause mis-fire which causes your car to sputter, skip, and shake. It can be changed easily when finding out which one it is. But rather expensive for a simple part $40+ each.

My Windstar is reading lean on the left and right banks, and a misfiring plug. I have replaced plugs and wires, put in a new coil, a new ERG valve, a new manifold, new plentum gaskets and am still having...

have your injectors cleaned, if they are clogged it can cause sputtering and plug misfiring. You can try putting some Lucas fuel treatment in your tank, but it sounds like its time to have them cleaned.

the shaking can, and most likely is, caused by the tires being out of balance.
