Question about 1998 Ford Escort

1994 ford escort 1.9l just dies while driving

While driving it will just die. It will start right back up and go but it will die again. It looses fuel pressure and volts at the pump.

How did you figure that it is loosing volts at the pump that is your problem

Fuel caps have breather holes in them - once clogged the fuel tank is sucked vacuum and the engine stalls. Check the fuel tank cap for clogged breather holes.

If money is an issue I would take the sparkplugs out clean them witha a wire toothbrush check the gap and reinstall. sounds like a iginition problem

I had the same problem a year ago. I problem was that the intake manifold gasket had a small hole and it was causing the computer to constantly change the air to fuel ratio. The constant changing cause the engine to die at stops.

You are on the right track. 99% sure it is a fuel supply problem. I suspect the lift pump is a likly candiddate or an obstruction inside of the fuel tank. Chack also on the vacuum side of the pump for any loose hoses that could result in an air leak so the lift pump will draw air instsead of fuel
