SOURCE: My Equinox gas cap will not tighten

Does it make a clicking sound as you are turning it? If so turn it until it clicks 3 times. If the cap is bad it will send a signal to the computer and then the check engine light will come on.

I have a 2005 cgev equinox. it takes about 2 to 3 times before starting. the mechanic said the locking gas cap is causing this/ what is your opinion

If the gas cap is causing this you should have a engine light with a fault code PO 4155 fault is mass gas pressure loss.I personally gone through about two hundred the way i explained it.

Are you turning the gas cap all the way until it clicks? If so,replace the cap ,the new one is bad, unless the code that is in the computer,is something else.

On a 2005 Equinox where is the coolant cap? Not that antifreeze holding chamber, but the cap where you are not suppose to open when its hot cause it shoots out everywhere. I want to put all new antifr

Not all vehicles have the cap you are talking about. If your vehicle does have a radiator cap, it will be somewhere along the top of the radiator. Would recommend going to a shop where they have the proper tool(s) to do a coolant flush.
