Question about 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

1 Answer

My 04 trailblazer is shaking and check engine light stays on

It has 160k miles, new brakes and was running well until we got an oil change and tune up at our local monro station. Was told it's the #2 fuel injector. Idk and don't know if it's worth fixing and what the cost will be. What to do?

First off, I'm not sure of the actual condition of the vehicle as far as the body and interior so I am un able to tell you if it is worth the money. I can say the Trailblazer is a prety good vehicle from what I have worked on and I am going by the vehicle having the 4.2 liter engine. As far as the cost and remeber I am going by you having the 4.2 liter engine, my labor guide says it takes 4 hour of time to replace 1 injector. It depends on what shop you go to as to their hourly labor rate. The cost of the injector itself list price is about $150.00 for the injector and the shop will most likely tack on a fee for materials and that varies for each shop as well. As I said labor rates are diferent. If I were to do it at my shop here in Florida, I would give an estimate to the customer of $445.14 plus tax. My hourly labor rate is $68.88 which is less than most shops and dealerships. Not sure of how the vehicle looks or how well it was maitained in the past so as far as if you should invest in the vehicle depends on that & you. If you do happen to have the 5.3 liter engine, the cost should be much less (only a couple hours of labor and the injector would cost about the same). I know this wasn't much help but hope I was able to help give you an idea as to cost and such.

What are the signs of bad spark plug in toyota avalon 2000 model

Vibration while braking usually points towards warped rotors which you will probably have to replace along with pads at the same time. As far as engine performance, you probably want to get a full tune-up. A good tune-up consists of spark plugs, wires(when applicable), induction cleaning service, and a new fuel filter.

JUST DO A LITTLE AT A TIME.THE TIMING BELT WOULD BE MY WORRY IF IT BREAKS ENGINE IS DONE.I WOULD REPLACE WATER PUMP AND TIMING BELT FIRST WOULD DRIVE MUCH UNTIL THATS FIX.

It violently shakes when parked or when stopped with brake applied, doesn't shake when moving though, rpms is like 500rpm constant so between 0 and 1 on the gauge. it also notice at night my lights stay...

If it shakes, it is normally either a bad motor mount (if the car runs fine) or your car is "missing" on one or more cylinders (misfire). The belt will squeal because they stretch with use. That can be solved by replacing the belt or tightening the belt. The squealing sound won't go away until you do one of those two things and is unrelated to the shaking. You PROBABLY are experiencing a very "rough idle" if any of the hoses to the intake (top of the motor) have a hole or crack in them from heat or age. This is common and is the first thing to look for to avoid high repair bills. Bad (worn out) spark plugs or old cracked plug wires can also cause a misfire. You could also have a bad coil pack, but mine has gone 186,000 miles without coil replacement or new plugs or wires and I've only changed the fuel filter once. Another possiblity is a faulty Idle Position Sensor that is not properly regulating the fuel delivery. Normally that would cause an engine light to come on also though and you can have someone at the parts store "read the code" once the engine light comes on.

Engine light stays on. checked engine oil , it was low. aded more oil. engine light still on.car is running fine but engine light stays on

Some vehicles come on after they get alot of miles on them as routine maintenance may be required like a tune up new spark plugs , plug wires and distributor cap and rotor. You can unhook your battery terminal on some vehicles it will reset the light. you can try this first if the light comes back on get a tune up . or have a mechanic put it on his computer but I would do that last cause it can cost $20 -$60 depends on your mechanic.

1996 Toyota Tacoma, 2WD, front driver side suspension creak. Cannot hear with window closed, but happens when engine is not running (if vehicle is pushed or rolled on uneven pavment). Have not noticed any...

Could be your upper and lower ball joints. squeeze the boots and see if you can feel any grease inside. With 160k miles it may be time to change them. Sway bar links and tie rod ends also have rubber boots protecting their ball joints.

Tune up check list for 59000 miles

Here is the check list. This should also be in your owners manual.

Inspect Brakes and Traction Control
Drive Belt

Fluid - Differential
Inspect front/rear axle fluid level and add fluid as needed. Inspect constant velocity joints and axle seals for leaking. Replace Engine Oil

Change engine oil and filter as indicated by the GM Oil Life System (or every 12 months, whichever occurs first). Reset the indicator. Never drive the vehicle more than 16 000 km (10,000 miles) without and oil and filter change. The system will not detect dust in the oil. If the vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner. Fuel Filter
