Oil color is black, but is not pure oil cause it can wipe off easily than a normal oil would maybe because is mixed with water, I'm not sure. but is still slightly oily though.

SOURCE: losing coolant

I can' say its a head gasget but if its the color you say it is means water is getting into the oil some how. It would be best to have a cooling pressure test done to determine if its a head gasget or something else causing this.

SOURCE: water/oil mixing in 22r engine

yes it can mix, also check the timing cover for rubs from the timing chain. this is the common problem with 22r. many mechanics will tell you its the block but they are just trying to make money.

SOURCE: 1991 Daihatsu charade, 3 cylinder, manual, engine

Hi ,engine oil in the coolant can only mean 1 of 2 things either head gasket or cracked block,It often takes experienced eye to see where the gasket problem is, it wont be :cracked:in that sense of the word, but I`m sure that will be the trouble... for oil to be in the water the leak will be between an oil gallery hol;e and a water jacket hole and the onlyevidence may be a darker colour between the 2 holes it wont be abig section ,or the oil pressure would have pushed alot of oil through into the water i think it is on an oil return gallery, unless there was a lot of oil.if you know an experienced older mechanic ask him to have a look at the gasket for you.I doubt it will be a cracked block ,unless you have had it realy hot and added cold water to the engine while it was hot. If not I sugest you clean every thing nicely and put anew head gasket on put it back together..If you need any help in that area, dont hesitate to get back to me and i`ll help where Ican, thanks

Gmc Safari van take a lot of water in radiator

3 possibilities:
1) Leaking (you should see coolant on the ground)
2) Going into your oil (sign of blown head gasket)
3) Going out your exhaust (sign of blown head gasket)
anyway you look at it, it's bad.

Sludge/oil in the radiator

Gary, Sludge in the radiator is almost a sure sign of blown head gasket, that is a component that comes in to contact with oil on the side of the cylinders, valve guides and water on the side of the cooling ducts in the engine block. The other possibility is oil leaking from the water pump seal.
Blown head gasket generally makes the engine run unevenly, misfiring.

98 pontiac sunfire overheating

Sorry to say the head gasket is still shot, and you probably have cracked the cylinder head too.
The excessive pressure in the radiator and the overheating is compression going from the cylinders to the cooling system. You may not be leaking coolant into the oil as fast as you were, but its still letting compression into the radiator.

White smoke out the exhaust

Sounds like antifreeze, possibly a blown or leaking head gasket. Check your engine oil dipstick to verify the oil is not creamy white indicating head gasket. Hope this helps

Radiator 22r toyota

This sounds like a broken head gasket. Water is separated from the oil, but the oil is seeping through a crack or break in the gasket and getting into the water. This can plug up the radiator and prevent cooling system from working.

Head gasket is a good days work to even a weekend and requires a great deal of expertise and most of these have special tools for the head bolts.

I would get repaired as soon as possible, as water is getting into the oil as well and can vapor lock the engine.

replace the oil cooler first before you change the head gasket ,but normally a 10 year old vehicle often has gasket fatigue ,not made like a good old fashioned copper head gasket ,they rarely went wrong

What is causing the oil to go into the water

Possibly the tranny cooler ( if you have an automatic ) inside the radiator is broken and leaking tranny fluid into the radiator

OR worst case scenario you have a head gasket leak $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I got oil in my coolant

There is a good chance that the head gasket is bad.

The engine block could also be cracked.
