Get underneath the engine and attach a battery charger positive to the positive lead on the starter and a clean bolt on the engine or bodywork. In 15 minutes, you will be able to open the door.

Alternatively there is the easy way, use the emergency door key that is hidden in the fob.

Does the key fob have a good battery in it ?

Perhaps the batteries in the key fob are flat or low?

Hi I dont know if this is the same as some ones car that I know,
but to open the other doors on her car you have to press the fob key for open twice,other wise all the other doors and boot stay locked.

although you can open the door with a key ,unless the alarm system senses a fob key signal it will assume that the door is being opened illegally and will set of the alarm
keys can be cut for all cars requiring a key fob unit but the alarm is not cancelled and the engine will not start

I work for a doctor and a patient just had this same problem. She had a extra fob in her trunk so we opened the trunk with the key and got her other fob but I am wondering why the key does not fit the lock on the driverside

rover 200 ,remove fuse F1 in the box under the bonnet and then the immobilisor is disabled.their is a box right up under the dash and you would need to take dash out to get to it ,use the key to open the door because to repair is more than the car is worth especialy in the uk ,car not worth more than a monkey(500)
