2000 micra 1.0 how do you replace power steering belt
There is a tensioner pulley that must be loosened to take tension off the old belt for removal. Is you're power steering light on or flashing ? This model car has electric power steering and has had many problems around the world with the power steering motor. You may want to consult a mechanic on this issue as it could be quit expensive to repair. I recommend that you go to any Auto Parts store and by a repair user manual for your 2000 Mazda Protege. They have pictures and arrows and stuff that you will need to do the whole job. The non-Mazda version will cost approximately $15.00.
Because of the tensioner that may come off when while you are doing these belt changes, it is too complicated to talk you through this.
But with the manual, I am confident you can change them.

dear friend-if your model came with a multy v belt(pk)then the power steering pump is equipt with a alluminuim pulley,should this be then the belt inbeds into the pulley to deep,replace or file down.
