Question about 1996 Chrysler Cirrus
My 1996 Cirrus will sometimes just shut off. It is like the engine is just turned off. There are some instances that I will be driving it and the car will shut off and then come back on (it hiccups). This happened with my 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan and we were never able to figure out what the problem was. We replaced all the fuel line, filter, and pump and it continued with the same problems. Any ideas?
There is 4 things that you need to run a car that is fuel , combustion ,compression and exhaust!!!
my 96 had a bad carbon build up in the metal tube to the right of the intake manifold..its hooked up to the egr sensor .what i did was took it off and soaked the tube in gas for 1/2 hour the blew it out with compressed air....while your at it you should clean that port on the intake where that metal tube was.....once all carbon chipped away, it is very important that you vacume the inside of the manifold....how you do that take the air intake off and stick your shop vac on that port where the tube was, then open your carb by hand and that should clean it right out!

CAM POSITION SENSOR IS BUILT IN TO DISTRIBUTOR. ONLY REPLACE IF NO SPARK AS COMPLETE UNIT. MUST CHECK PCM OR SHUTDOWN RELAY IN RELAY BOX UNDER HOOD.
