Question about 1993 Toyota Supra
In my 1993 Toyota Supra the tail lights come on when I turn on the headlights, however the tail lights will not come on under any condition with I hit the brakes. Also the center Brake Lense on the hatch in the rear does come on when the brakes are hit. Both Fuse look good.
I had similar problem with my 94 supra and resolved by my mechanic. He related that he removed panels and found a circuit box located in the hatch, driver side near rear tail light. He disconnected the circuit & cleaned corrosion. (note: circuit box is not easily seen kinda hidden)

Have you tried NEW Bulbs in either or both Tail Lights? If not try one and see if it will light when applying the Brakes. If one then lights replace the one on the other side and see if it then lights. If neither side will light but the CHML (Center High Mounted Light) does light, check your under chassis wiring harnesses for disconnected connector(s) or physical damage. Many times all it takes is a small stone with a sharp ede to cut through a wiring harness jacket and fracture one or more wires. It also could be any one of the connectors between the Instrument panel and the individual Tail Lights. If you live in an area where Salt is used on the roads in the winter, corroded connector pins are not uncommon. They can be cleaned and lubricated wit a small amount of white grease to help prevent further corrosion.
Remember that the Turn Signal Switch is in the Circuit. Normally Closed contacts are present for both directions when in the neutral position. Thus both Brake lights will work in the neutral position. Select Left Turn and the Flasher provides a connection to the Left side bulbs and conversely, Select Right Turn and the Flasher provides a connection to the Right side Bulbs.
Turn Signal Switches do fail on occasion.
Good luck! Bob
It is not hard to diagnose using a good 12V test light or new bulbs substituted for the existing ones. If you have Power to a socket and the Tail Lights work you obviously have a good Ground connection. If a Test Light or New Bulb will Light you do not have a wiring problem.

There is a switch located on the brake pedal right at the bend(just behind where your foot touches)
