Question about 1998 Ford Taurus
I have 98 ford Taurus wagon that gets stuck sometimes while driving, I first realized I had a problem while the car was in park running and began to accelerate high which it hasn't done that for a while now, but now since it seems to be having problems going into gears while driving, now the motor mounts are shot and I was told the serpentine belt needs to be replaces as well where do I begin to fix it?
Well first you will need to have the transmission diagnosed, if it is in need of a rebuild you might as well junk the car as the rebuild will cost more than the car is most likely worth.

use a 15mm box wrench on the nut retaining the tensioner pulley to pry the tensioner 'arm' against the spring to release belt. note belt routing on decal under hood,or make a sketch,to aid in replacement.
on OHV engine rotate clockwise
on OHC rotate counter clockwise
be sure belt is completely seated on pulleys
