Question about 2005 Pontiac Sunfire
The tach first stopped working, and now it appears to work sometimes and working inacurately others. Minutes after the tach stopped, the speedometer became inacurate, slowly rising and pegging out over 110mph. It now appears at 55mph with the car parked. The other gauges (fuel and temp) appear accurate so far. I'm guessing it is a sensor on the transmission but that is why I'm here, I'm no mechanic. Can I fix it?

I have the same problem.. i installed a toggle switch for the fuse so at least I can reset it while driving.. its still a pain so Im thinking my next step will be to drill a hole through the plastic and put in a small metal post to stop the tach from going past 7
has anyone taken theirs into a shop?
