Question about 2000 Dodge Neon
Quite a project just to let you know.
Ok if you have the key i will be a lot easier.
Remove the 2 screws holding the cover around the steering column there is also 2 snaps holding it together.
Remove the blinker/washer assembly 2 screws from the top.
You should have a clear picture of the ignition
It gets really fuzzy after this but i had to punch in the pin that holds the ignition in on mine because i lost my keys which is located on the bottom side. Removing the ignition should be turning the key as you pull it from its holder.
Now if you got a junkyard ignition and key this wont work the keys have chips in them that corresponds with a ring that goes around the ignition that corresponds with the computer.
No matter what you have to end up going to the dealer. They can not reprogram the keys it is a one shot thing. So the best thing to do is just tow your car up to the dealer and pay like $90 for one and $120 for two because you will have to anyway.
If you change the ring reader it will not colaberate with the computer.
