Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Service Engine soon light, OEM code P0410

About 3 months ago my car rev's to about 1100 rpm when I first start it, about 30 seconds later idles down to normal. This happens every time the car is started after sitting for more than an hour or so. Few days ago my Service engine soon light came on and stayed on. The car runs fine rest of the time. God a print out from AutoZone this is what it says: 1. Circuit relay defective or fuse open. 2. Check connector and wiring. 3. AIR Pump defective or hoses blocked. My problem is I have no idea where any of these are located????

no air pump relay opperation(relay located next to air pump along LH frame rail). Found break in pink wire to relay near top of frame rail. Repaired and all good.

1.)Vehicle came in with check engine light on. Code P0410-Secondary AIR injection system. 2.) No blown fuses. Ran AIR pump with scan tool and it worked fine. No water contamination in pump or lines. Checked shut-off valve on cylinder head. Had power and grounds but it wouldn't activate. 3.) Replaced stuck closed shut-off valve and all is well.

more info on this code .......................................

have you tried a blip rev in park to switch off cold start (LIKE AN ELECTRONIC VERSION OF WHAT WAS A CHOKE YEARS AGO)
if not disconnect battery for thirty seconds and re-connect this may reset ecu keep in mind you could lose radio function if coded unless you have code dont do this

sounds like you have a code in the computer that needs to be checked out which will send you in the direction to diagnoise the problem.you could have a couple problems.it could be a tps sensor, vacume leak, injector problem, etc.

Hi

You need to go to a shop with a code reader. The check engine light was telling you something and you need a code reader. Depending on which country you are in, if in the states autozone may have it for free.

Whatever initiated the light is now messing up the other parts of the car.

Hope that helps.

Throttle problems. as soon as you start the car it revs up to 4 RPM's and wont go down

Your idle needs to be tuned down, could also be an injector relay or fuel pump / injector pump relay

My 1987 turbo toyota supra will only rev up to 2500 rpm then cut out like a governer. when it drops to about 2000 rpm it will rev back up only to 2500 rpm. at an idle it runs rough

The throttle position sensor has an idle switch in it that tells the car's computer that the throttle is positioned at idle. If the idle switch sticks in the idle position, the computer will not allow the engine to rev more than 2500 rpm. In your case, I think the switch is stuck.

First, see if you can get the trouble codes to come up. Rig a jumper wire and jump between the "T" terminal and the "E1" terminal in the car's "Diagnostics" box. It is a small black box on the driver's side of the engine compartment near the battery. Open the lid and on the inside of the lid it has a map of the terminals.

Once you hook up the jumper wire, turn the ignition switch to on but do not start the car. If there are codes, the check engine light (orange) will blink the 2 digit code. It blinks the first digit, pauses, then blinks the second digit. The code for the throttle position sensor is code "41". That is, four blinks...pause...then one blink. If this code comes up, change the throttle position sensor. (If there are no codes, the check engine light will steadily blink once per second until you turn the key to off.) Don't forget to remove the jumper wire when you are finished.

99 volkswagen passat starts, then stalls, won't keep idle

I am having a similar problem on a 2003 Volkswagon Passat 1.8L 4 cylinder manual engine. My batter (after 10 years of service) died about a month ago. When the engine is cold and I start it up the engine (if I do not carefully add gas to rev the engine) will idle at around 200 to 400 RPM and then stall. The problem does not occur after the engine has been going for more than about 90 seconds. No check engine light is on. Ideas anyone?
