I have a 2000 malibu will the knock sensor keep it from runnig

No.
The knock sensor picks up vibration in the engine and signals the engine computer to slow down the timing. It may run sluggish, but should still run.

If fuel fiter is bad will your car waste alot of gas and run sluggish

Probably not the fuel filter. A bad filter would cause a lack of fuel to reach the engine.

NEED HELP 2004 GMC ENVOY TROUBLE CODES PO301, PO128, PO301 PD RUNNING BAD- SLUGGISH AND VIBRATING. CONSUMING ALOT OF GAS

Hello cdhills06: My name is Roger and I will help you. The code P0301 is specific to number one cylinder. This means the cylinder is misfiring. The code P0128 relates to the coolant sensor. If you are losing coolant or have white smoke out of the exhaust? I would look real close at number one cylinder as having an intake leak or head gasket problem. Generally you do not have a cylinder misfire and coolant problem at the same time. Make sure you are not low on coolant in the radiator.Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

My 2004 envoy has a really bad vibration when running at 500 rpm , when you rev it up to 1000 it seems to go away.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Two reasons why it vibrates. You may have a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor or IACV (idle air control valve). These two controls the air that circulates in the engine. If one of them is faulty you'll definitely have vacuum irregularities, car may run sluggish or may even result to stalling.

These two sensors are located on the throttle body, once replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Today when I was driving my car it began to vibrate loudly and then it acted like it was going to stall. It sounds strange when it is running and when I press on the gas, it is sluggish, very sluggish

I'm wondering if the motor is shot. W/ car on level surface, check oil level (w/ car off, pull out dipstick, wipe off w/ clean rag, reinsert, pull out and see if oil level is low, or doesn't show up on the dipstick. How many miles on the car? It could be a major engine problem.countrycurt0
