Heater blowing cold air on 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan

Just beginning to need the heater and realize that it's blowing only cold air out no matter how long I let it run or what settings I put it on. The a/c is working fine, and the heat was too until just recently because I used it for defrosting the windows not too long ago. I haven't noticed any leaks anywhere. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help available from a single mom!

My 1998 Dodge caravan has the same problem. The heater blows cold air at mid and high fan speed. It only blows a little warm (not hot) air when fan speed set on low and after 30 min drive. Also the air flow is much weaker than before. What is the problem? May I fix it myself?

I have this same problem on a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Thermostat was just replaced, radiator is good.

The rear heater works, but the front heater does work. There's no indication of the blower fan working.

Misty check the water level in the radiato...if it is low the last thing to get any water is the heater core..if low you will need to find the reason...like a water pump or headgasket leaking

To hohohornet, there is no heater element on the 2003 Caravan. There is a heater core (is like a miniature radiator), but I dont think it's got a fuse to it....

I would say to check all of your fuses and make sure that there isn't one going to the heating element. If fuses are good, also check the element itself. It shouldn't be too bad of a fix and you could also go to any parts store and they would gladly check for you. Good luck!!!

Heater isnt blowing warm air in 2003 grand caravan

Assuming the radiator is full of coolant, you are describing a faulty thermostat. The thermostat is closed when the engine is cold to restrict coolant flow until it warms up.

We have a 2003 dodge caravan? Our "heater" is only blowing out cold air, no matter how full the radiator is. It is using a lot of antifreeze, too, but we do not see any leaks anywhere when we stop som

randy this might be a thermostat change this they are cheap but make sure u get a gasket. allso check your oil,if it looks like u have water in it thats where your rad antifreeze is going, blown head gasket.

2001 Dodge Caravan heater blows cold air when stopped

Have you checked the coolant level? What you describe is exactly what happens if the coolant level is low. When stopped at idle, hot coolant is not circulating through the heater core, so no heat. As the engine increases in rpm's when you pull away from the light, the water pump is spinning quicker, and some coolant is making it to the heater core. So check the level, and if it is low, keep an eye on it to see if it drops again. That of course indicates a leak somewhere. Get it fixed, as overheating the engine leads to costly repairs and worse case a new engine. Let me know how you make out with this.
