Check the keep alive memory wire to the radio connector, there is a fuse, check it. there are 2 wires that have 12 volts one all the time even when the key is off, that keeps the radio stations and time, the other is the power lead, itis hot when the key is turned on. As far as the antenna goes I am not sure what you mean, does it work, the mast comes up?

Radio power is on but no sound coming from speakers/radio on 2005 Acura MDX. Sound works with CD's

Turn on the radio and increase the volume if you can hear a hiss through the speakers, chance is the aerial/antenna connection is not hooked up correctly. Another way to check is try tuning to an AM station if you get a signal on AM but not FM then it is The antenna. You may have to remove the radio to get at the connection.

Radio aerial will not retract when radio is turned off , but will when I turn ignition is turned off, the last owner has put in a new radio.

The antenna wire has been wired wrongly to receive full time current whenever the vehicle is turned on. It is supposed to be wired to the remote turn-on wire from the radio, so it goes off whenever the radio is turned off.It will have to be rewired to work correctly.

Electric aerial on 1998 Toyota Celica

The grinding noise means that the gear in the motor slides over the retracting shaft, you will probably need to get a new one.

Might sound silly, but physically remove each fuse in the engine bay, check the fuse receptical for corrosion, dirt, etc. Check each fuse with an ohm meter for continuity and return to socket. Had one socket acting up on mine.

Fitting new antena aerial to Saab 93

Len-
The replacement only costs about $20. The dealer can also provide a replacement but it can cost upwards of $50+. Part number is 5035944.

The hardest part is removing the metal sleeve from the mast pole. Once you get this out, refit the new mast with the teeth so the motor will pull the new mast down when you turn the radio off. refit the 17mm nut on top of the mast and then turn the radio back on. It will click a few times and then be properly set.
