Hey Dave, Good Evening...First off, Great

Hey Dave, Good Evening...First off, Great job coming up with the solution to my Range Rover Electrical/BeCM Problem! Thanks a Million, I did as you asked and left a rating/comment on you and your service. Thank you for your expertise!!! And those schematics are 100Times easier to read than the factory ones! Anyways, do you have anymore schematics like you sent today, (Thanks again BTW) of the Diagnostic link connections, Internal BeCM components, and the way the windows actually operate w/Switch Pack, Wind. ECU, and Door Outstation schematics...I need to learn how windows and DLC work with serial bus communication,etc...To Troubleshoot P. Windows, HVAC and BeCM, EAS, DLC issues...To ensure DLC isn't getting signal from EAS and BeCM...I cleaned a bunch of grounds last night and got EAS working a bit, still no interface w/ laptop though. Thanks, Brian Please let me know where to go and I can look up those schematics myself if that would be easier...

Hi again,
Actually, with all of the information that you are requiring, it would probably be easier for you if you were to subscribe to the information service at alldatadiy.com. There you can get all of the factory information that I use to perform my job. The last I checked, I think it was about $27 (US) to subscribe to all of the repair information for a single vehicle for an entire year. You can add a second vehicle for (I think) about $20/Yr.

Anyway, Here is a direct link, check it out:

I appreciate your business,

Hi. I have a 1996 4.6 Range Rover. Oil pressure light comes on at idle plus bearing rattle. Some one told me that the block could be cracked under the valley cover letting oil escape. I was told this is a...

Hey Peter,
You are correct, the cracking of the oil gallery in the block is an ongoing issue and to be honest, there is no easy fix..
However, this could also be due to faulty or incorrectly adjusted oil pressure regulator (which is inside the sump) or a worn oil pump, or worn engine to have a mechanic check the actual oil pressure for you. He will remove the pressure switch and fit a pressure gauge so that the actual pressure can be checked.
If this shows low oil pressure then all you can do is pull the engine down and have the block pressure checked to locate the point of the leak. You can also check the oil pump and the vanes inside for wear..
Having the block welded will only result in the crack appearing next to the weld.
Sorry but it is a design fault with these engines..
Dave.
